So, it seems that my favourite scotch now gives me heartburn... Hopefully the gf beer doesn't bother me tomorrow. I'm still not cramping, so DH told me that if I'm still not cramping in the morning he wants me to test again. Meh, he's the one that paid for the tests, and I have 50 of them now! I hate him being so disappointed though.

  • Hello,

thank you for the hugs etc earlier. But I'm totally ok with it not having worked this month as we're still in the early stages of trying for number 2 (3 months off the pill, and first month making an effort with the BD). I'm actually a wee bit glad as my parents come tomorrow for 5 days and it would have been bloody obvious if I'm not drinking over christmas etc. My mum would have know straight away (as she is already asking me if I got sth to tell her although we told her we won't start trying till later next year), but I wouldn't want her to find out that way when other family is here too etc that early, so all is good. That way I can also drink without guilt and the start of next year is quiet that way anyway, although it's never the right or wrong time, eh, with birthdays and other social occasions coming up one doesn't want to miss out :o on or it being too early to tell and not taking part being suspicious.

Anyway, long story short, I also send hugs to those for whom it wasn't meant to be this month and I can feel for those who are unfortunate enough to have to be extremely patient. I can emphasise, number one took 18 month. Heads up it will happen when it's meant to be (sorry cheesy stereotypical drivel, that you probably heard enough off).

And I've just skimmed the latest posts (catch up properly maybe after christmas) but I see some Congratulations are in order. All the best to those with BFP and may it be a healthy pregnancy.

I'll disappear over the next two weeks (hectic social calendar) and hope to see you all (well hopefully actually not all :p) next year.

Merry Christmas :santa2: and a Happy New Year, May it be fertile :D

    Debt-free and Proud!
    Morning all!
CD1 for me today please. AF arrived this morning at 5am on a train of pain! I greeted her with a torrent of swearing and verbal abuse :D, more for my lost sleep and horrid cramps than anything else.

    Silver lining:
    • I work! :j
    • I know when I O'd, and can predict it with confidence next month.
    • I can drink over Christmas.
    • Next month's O date will be around me and OH's birthday (same day), so that'll be a good weekend!
    • I have 3 more weeks to diet. Obviously that's going to work at Christmas!
    Hugs to all!

Just reading back and see teamlowe asked about my story.

Well.... I'm a real old timer on this thread. Began 'casually' ttc in may 2010. Took 15 cycles to finally get my bfp. Lost baby at 7 weeks pg.

3 months after mc I was hospitalised in ketoacidosis with un diagnosed type 1 diabetes. This probably caused first mc.

Forced to take 3 month break from ttc while I sorted out my diabetic control.

Started ttc again this march, bfp in June. Had mmc at 9-10 weeks. This time can't blame diabetes as control was tight while pg. hcg then took 11 weeks to fall to zero but no explanation as to why. (Had erpc and no evidence of molar pg which can cause high hcg.)

Now back on ttc wagon and hoping with all my might for a 2013 bfp.

sounds like you've really been through it maire, hope you have your forever baby soon. are you trying naturally still?

it's interesting, if thats the right word, to know that diabetes has an effect on miscarriage risks. research seems to suggest that the insulin resistance caused by/that causes pcos is responsible for the rise in risk of miscarriage with that syndrome and this can be counteracted by taking metformin during pregnancy. I always regret stopping taking mine when I found out I was pregnant til I saw the doctor and he reassured me but by then the baby had died but I didn't know for a few more weeks x x

    Woohoo another December BFP Congratulations!

Hugs for all with the dreaded CD1!

Went out last night with a few friends and am feeling a little worse for wear this morning. But then had an amazing moment where I realised I had saved half of last nights chicken kebab in the fridge.

A bit icky I know but that will be getting eaten very soon!

TL- my first mc was most likely due to sustained raised blood glucose. Actually, I feel the hospital let me down as they knew my bg was too high but failed to tell me or to follow it up. Therefore I was hospitalised with dangerously high blood sugar a little while later.

I am insulin dependent, but my doses are small so not sure that insulin resistance is an issue yet for me.

Have been told that 1. They will not investigate mcs until there have been 3. And 2. They can't see any reason ATM why I can't conceive naturally. Pregnancy will be tough though! Hoping it happens soon.
