Congratulations onlyway
Really chuffed for you.
Just chanced an ovulation test at CD16, fully expecting no line at all. Well, there is a line, not as dark as the control line but can see a line from a fair distanceHopefully I will ovulate a little earlier than CD25 this month.
How did it go today Lily? xxDS born November 2013 :smileyhea0 -

Also lots of love and sympathy to Claire, sorry I missed your post before and am just catching up. Hope you are ok and have all the support you need.
Laocat, I think you did the right thing with the text. You are a lovely considerate friend to think of it and realise how difficult your friend may find coping with your news even though she will be happy for you.
Hugs to Mrs TM for CD1. I will be right behind you tomorrow as AF pains have started with a vengeance. I'm sitting looking at a huge pile of boozy presens under the Christmas tree right now so it's probably just as well really that this month wasn't meant to be.
Exam results were out this morning and I passed! Such a huge relief and now I can get on with enjoying Christmas - today was my last day until 2 January so a lovely long break for me.
A bit of advice would be much appreciated if possible. What does everyone use for pain relief during AF? I keep reading that ibuprofen and feminax/naproxen are big no-nos while TTC, and paracetamol has little or no effect on my period pain, I'm tired of losing a day every month to this! What else could I try? They are bad enough that I was put on the pill at an early age and a hot water bottle is definitely not much help!
What else... oh yes, I have been to Holland & Barrett for maca root (for both me and DH) and have some Conceive Plus waiting at the post office to be picked up, so January will be all systems go :rotfl:0 -
Have had a really good dinner (fajitas) and ice cream with the husband, and he's being extremely caring and cuddly tonight. He's just poured us each a scotch even!
The way I see it, I'm still young, and there's always next month. At least this way I can eat and drink whatever I want over the holidays!
I'm going to make it my goal to eat healthier, focus on more veggies and fruits, and hopefully lose at least 10% of my body weight next year (that 10% is 28.5 pounds...). Losing the weight will probably make it easier to conceive as well. I have such a problem sticking with any eating plan. I'm fine for about half of a day, maybe 2-3 days, but I end up giving up way too quickly.
I do finally have a bicycle though.A friend of ours is moving back to Zimbabwe and she gave me her bike. It needs a service and I need a helmet, but I am looking forward to riding soon. I'm going to start by just going to ALDI and back every day (1.1 miles round trip) until I become accustomed to that, then I'll start making longer trips into the city. Plus, once I can make longer trips, I'll be able to visit the pet store more and look at all of the cute and cuddly animals! Can't bring any more home though.
I'm thankfully not as disappointed that AF has shown up (early too, darn it!) as I thought I would be. At least this way, I can enjoy the holidays and not worry about foods or drinking, I will be over this AF by the time DH's parents visit, and I won't have AF over my birthday at the end of next month (even if I do have an AF next month).
DH is also off work until the 2nd January, so I get lie ins and extra cuddles for the next week or so.
Sorry for the ramble!
Think it's time for a movie now. Going to let DH try and decide which one to watch. He's so indecisive at times!
Also CONGRATS Onlyway!!!!
I hope that everyone has a wonderful night!0 -
Hugs for CD1 Mrs_T_M. Have a fab evening with your hubby xxDS born November 2013 :smileyhea0

It's fine to take ibuprofen during AF as you're not waiting for an egg to implant. Don't suffer with pain hun!
Plus I think if its going to implant it will anyway0 -
Congratulations onlywayisup! :j
Well done for passing your exams angeltreats! :j As for the period pain, just my opinion but I'd take the ibuprofen. As I see it, I'm on my period because I'm clearly not PG so any warnings about it being harmful for a foetus is a bit of a moot point. When I'm in the 2ww I am much more careful and only take paracetamol if I to, not that it does anything!
Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -
