Trying for a Baby Part 8

lao_cat - I think that is a very thoughtful thing to do for your friend and give her advanced warning.
Claire16c - I am so so sorry that it didn't work out for you and your OH. I hope you make a fast and full recovery so you can get your forever baby -x-0 -
Hi ladies I've started lurking on here and had to post because that sparkly reindeer reminded me of when I was on here at the same time last year.
Unfortunately ill be joining you again although not sure exactly when yet. We went for our 12 week scan to be told the baby had died at 8 weeks. So I am probably going to the hospital tomorrow to have the procedure done to remove it.
After being on this board before for what felt like an eternity I have to say I do feel relieved to know I can get pregnant. So we will be trying again as soon as this awful ordeal is done although I don't think I will ever actually be 'over it'.
I hope all the ones of you testing this week get an early Christmas present good luck lemonmelon too xxIf you can think it........it will happen0 -

what subject area is your PhD in? i'm in developmental psyc - data collection is almost finished and in the middle of starting to write papers. my research topic is parenting - quite frustrating when you want a baby yourself and it isn't happening!
as i said before, am now on TTC break as if i fell pregnant now i wouldn't have baby til after PhD and then not be entilted to any maternity leave... and i can't live on thin air!!
so i'm lurking
Hi ChloeLouise
I'm in a really similar position. I don't get any maternity pay in my funding, but I reckon we could scrape by on OH wage alone. My PhD deadline is end of September, so there's one or two more cycles of trying to squeeze in a maternity leave before then.
In theory we could try the whole way up until the deadline, but it's going to be such a stressful time. Final writing up with morning sickness sounds horrible! And the poor baby would then be stressed out too. So I reckon we will also take a TTC break in a couple of months until the end of September.
It definitely is difficult for women following this career path. Especially factoring in postdocs, and applying for jobs. I have some fab friends who had PhD babies though - one is expecting her third
It's great news that you're starting to write up papers. I'm in Sociology, but a weird niche that studies information technology, design and computing! We write the whole thesis as one chunk, and my first draft is due 11th January, which is a bit scary. I must be hard on you working on parenting as a topic. But you will have such a wonderful perspective when you do become a Mum.

Hugs Claire- I'm sorry to hear your news.
Please can I be changed to CD1 and a * as I will be using Conceive Plus. Also going to start using my CBFM again, but can't find the instructions. Is it CD8 I start using the sticks?
Feeling all bloaty and yucky today. Was going to wrap some presents but think I will have a nice bath and an early night once DD has gone to bed.0 -
He seemed helpful to be honest. I am confused now whether I have booked my next blood test for the right day. Booked it on CD26 but that is usually the day I ovulate (I think I do anyway!) Should I have booked it for a few days after that? He said to book it for 7 days before AF starts, so that's what I did.
*sigh* I don't really know what to suggest.
Well, if you are correct in your ovulation prediction, then your blood tests will show low progesterone and you will get referred to the hospital as I did. If it doesn't show low progesterone then you've got your dates wrong.
So either way you can't loose14th October 201020th October 20113rd December 20130 -
