Abis- firstly make sure the cleaner you're using is a bicarbonate, you can get special cat mess cleaners from pets at home. it has to break down the enzymes otherwise as you say, he'll still smell it and think it's where he should go
where is his litter tray? he might not like it being in a busy spot. it also should be far away from his food and water
did he have one or two litter trays at his last home? some cats want one litter tray for pee and one for poop, so maybe give him the option?
the only other thing i can think of is putting a litter tray where he's pooping and then gradually move it over to where you want him to poop xLittle Lowe born January 2014 at 36+6

Eek - have just spoken to a recruitment agency about a job (they found my CV online). The job looks really interesting, and is about 30 mins away.
Closing date is friday and they want to interview before christmas, with a view to starting in the new year.
I'm so torn! The ICSI will prob be end of Jan time, so there's no way I can be starting a new job, right? I'd need loads of time off (hosp will be about hr away from this job), and then hopefully I'd need maternity leave anyway.
Seems really ungrateful not to go for it though. So far I've gone along with it and my CV has gone over to them. Obv no guarantee they'll even want to speak to me, but now I'm stressing about what to do.
If they offer me an interview should I just say I can't, for medical reasons or something?0 -
Thank you ladies - I knew you'd have some answers for me
I have got a special cat mess cleaner from when my other cat was poorly earlier on in the year. Didn't even think about using that! Doh!! I forget that the smell can linger for cats. I knew once he had done it once there was a good chance he would do it again. Am just glad I hadn't managed to iron and re-hang the curtains in the meantime :rotfl:
His litter tray is in a busy-ish spot I suppose and is right next to his food and water - so I will defo try move that and see what happens. I know they like privacy to poop (don't we all :rotfl:) so I should have known better. The cats litter tray is hidden out the way in a different room, but she always prefers to go outside to do her business, so you kind of forget sometimes how these things work
He came from the RSPCA, so was at a foster carers house. He was in a large cage indoors with his siblings, and let out every now and then when the other sibling groups had their turn in their cages. Some of the kittens were different ages, so they couldn't be mixed in case there was any bother. The lady said he had never poo'd anywhere apart from his litter tray before, and that he was probably stressed. I appreciate its a big change for the little fella, he doesn't look all that stressed tho. He sits on your lap, wants lots of stroking and attention and purrs lots, inbetween him running and jumping chasing things and finding fun. And he is weeing in the right place too, which makes me think its not a stress thing.
He is settling in with our cat much better than I had anticipated too, altho she is mostly keeping out of the way at the moment. She still comes for snuggles too every now and then.Married my lobster in July 2011

Tealover. Count to 10 again and take some more deep breaths
Go for the interview if you are offered one. If nothing else, its good experience for you.
Take the job if its offered to you and you like it.
Cross any medical bridges as and when you come to them.
If you need time off for ICSI then just say to new bosses that you have some prior medical appointments that you need time off for. They need know no more than that. Its not like they will say - oh what are you having done. Its not an appropriate question.
If you get pregnant straight away - then yayyyy!!! The very worst they can do is sack you. Which leaves you no worse off than you are now.
In all honesty tho, they probably won't sack you - you will have proved how excellent you are in the 8-9 months work you give them prior to maternity leave and they will be looking forward to having you back on board after maternity leave. Employers understand that women have children. Its not a massive shock to them.
Good luck and eeekkkkkkkk at the same time :j:j:jMarried my lobster in July 2011

Hi ladies,
Been lurking as usual. I've been trying to persuade my DH to let us have a new kitten, still working on him though!
I'm off sick from work today. I've been back on a phased return as I've been suffering from some miscarriage related mental health issues. Monday was my first full day, I was looking forward to it and glad to be pretty much back to my old self. 5 minutes in to the second lesson of the day I was assaulted by a student (I'm a teacher in a mainstream secondary school). I'm not hurt physically but it has badly shaken me up and I've been awake worrying half the night and have been feeling very sick too. So flipping annoyed as I really thought I'd put things a bit more behind me.
AF due somewhere between Friday and Sunday and I'm worried about it really. I know it's more likely that I'm not pg than I am but I hate that feeling when you first find AF and you know that's abother month gone
Sorry, didn't mean to come on and moan!
Tea lover, I think Abis speaks lots of sense about the job both in having quit the old one and about the potential new one. 8 days to go, lucky lucky you!Updating soon...0 -

Sorry to hear about your assault courgette..I hope you are ok. Have you been signed off work?
DOn't forget you said you think you get pregnant fairly easily, so why shouldn't it be so this month? Come on..PMA PMA!!!Metranil dreams of becoming a neon,You don't even take him seriously,How am I going to get to heaven?,When I'm just balanced so precariously..0 -
Courgette,
Shall I send you some piccies of Mickey the kitten - will that help persuade your DH?? He is sooooooooo cute. Altho his favourite game last night was running around our bed as fast as he could which was not really the best thing whilst we needed to BD :rotfl: I think he liked the sheets cos they are satin so must have been good for him to run and jump on, lol!!
Oh no for what happened at work!!! Sounds awfulHope the pupil has been suitably punished for their actions.
Have a dodgy hug :grouphug: Don't be too hard on yourself tho. Its nothing you could have prepared for or done anything differently.
Hope that AF stays away for you. I think we do kind of twist ourselves in knots during the 2ww. Its excited, scary, sad, hopeful, dreamy, terrifying, hopeless, etc etc. I can range from one emotion right on to the next one at lightning speed as well.Married my lobster in July 2011

Big hugs courgette. That sounds horrible, hope you're ok. I'm not surprised you're shaken up after that, hardly what you're expecting when you go to work. Take care xx.
