Well temp dipped again this morning so I'm guessing I havent ovulated - so annoying as I managed to get OH to bd for last 3 days!!
Really fed up of my long cycles now - do you ladies think the doc would give me anything to bring on early ov or will leave it as I am ov'ing on my own?
    xx

glad it went well MrsHappy, fingers crossed for lots of dethawed swimmers! a sentence i never thought i'd type lol

Elsie as long as you're ovulating that is all that matters and doctors are very very very reluctant to interfere with a cycle they would consider healthy. as far as i'm aware there's nothing they could do to make you ovulate earlier. clomid might but there's no garuntees and they're very reluctant to give that as it has nasty side effects and risks.

i feel your pain though, longer cycles means more time between tries :( x x

just looked at your last chart, CD24 is not bad for Ov, that would give a 38 day cycle and 'normal' is 28-42 x

Hooray for AF Amy! (Never thought I'd say that!) :)

Love the dogs Tinks! You should make big reindeer for Christmas! :)

Good news about the ICSI going ahead soon MrsHappy! :)

TL, that doctor sounds like a total d-bag! Hope you get someone with a better bedside manner in future!

Elsie, I've got cycles like yours, I OV in the late 20s then have a short (too short?!) LP and I feel your pain but I don't think there's a lot that can be done about it as it's not *that* bad. Maybe you could try Lunaception? :)
Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!

    Hey ladies :hello:

I wrote a big long post the other night and the computer ate it  So I have been sulking about it since then :rotfl:

Thanks for all the messages. The due date was actually a lot easier than I had anticipated. I did have some tears writing my letter and during out little ceremony with the lantern, but for the most of the day it was just a normal lovely day. Think the distraction of the weekend away helped.

Yay for CD1 amyloofoo - hope thats the last we all see of wierd crazy cycles that don't even result in a BFP for our patience and efforts.

Elsie - echoing what others have said. If you have long cycles, but do ovulate - theres not a lot the doctors will do about that. Theres a few about that have tried lunaception which seems to shorten cycles, but I think it is a little harder to do in winter as oposed to summer. You could have a read up on it tho and see what you think. I'm a long cycler well - it sucks :o

MrsHappy - Fingers crossed for you. What will happen next then?

Teamlowe - What an idiot doctor  My friend is too nervous to go to the docs even tho she has been trying a couple of years in case they say similar to what your doctor said. Its annoying that they still think its ok to say things like that

AFM - I'm on ov watch - altho forgot to temp this morning  Could be any time from now for the next 2 weeks tho. Got a fairly darkish line on the OPK yesterday, but I wouldn't call it positive. We're BD'ing every other day. Trying not to wear ourselves out too early in the month this time :rotfl: Got CD21 (well will be CD19) bloods on friday, but doubt they will show any sign of ov at that point.

For those with the reluctant OH's, I know its deeply unsexy, but my hubby is put in the picture about it all. He knows which nights he is on 'duty'. So then from then we know what is expected, and we try to make it normal and fun. Sometimes we're not in the mood to begin with - but we soon manage to be after a cuddle and a kiss. I think if I was to try and initiate when he wasn't in the mood and he wasn't aware of it being around ov time I wouldn't get very far :o But after 14 months of trying and him knowing how upset I get, he does put more of an effort in around ov time than he would normally. I think one time when he rebuffed my advances at ov time and I broke down and cried for a good half an hour about how I couldn't do that particular part on my own kind of made him realise it was easier to shag than to face the consequences :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I have my kitten now :j:j:j He is beaut!! He is very playful, and inquisitive, and confident and loving. He loves a good stroke and sits on my lap lots already. Even DH is totally won over with him after I have been trying to persuade him for a year or more that we really >needed< a kitten. He is pooing behind the telly tho  Anybody got any tips??? He wees in his litter tray, but the last 2 mornings he has poo'd at the other side of the room. Must be the most awkward place in the world to clean up too, and I've had to wash the floor length cream curtains. :( I know hes only little and he needs time to settle in etc - but I don't want him getting in to the habit of thinking its ok to poo there. Especially cos the christmas tree normally butts up to the telly so it would make access to clean it virtually impossible. I've disinfected the floor so it doesn't smell of him and removed the poo and put it in his litter tray - anything else I can do??

Oh ladies, I have the fear!! Am having a total '!!!!!! have I done' moment. All I've heard on Breakfast this morning is how bad the economy is and how there's no jobs out there.... and I've quit in the middle of a recession.:eek::eek:

Keep telling myself I'm doing this to give the ICSI the best possible chance. But it's really scary!

Also have some work I need to get finished this week but have absolutely no motivation. It was bad before but now I know I've got 8 days left here I really cba.

Tealover - Just count to 10 and take some deep breaths. The economy has been shite for years now and people still manage to find jobs.

I was unemployed for 6 months 3 years ago, and it can be hard, but sometimes these things happen for a reason. I managed to get my dream job, working in my town, for my brother, part time, well paid. I love my job, and its soooo flexible its unreal.

During them 6 months I did stress out a lot. But I think I didn't get a lot of the jobs I applied for for a reason iyswim. Without that 6 month period, I would never have begun to realise that I could afford to drop my wages down to part time from full time. I had to economise being on zero wages. It taught me so many lessons, and yes it was hard at times, but in the end it was completely and utterly worth it. I'm just hoping there is a similar end to my fertility journey :o:o

Try putting bicarbonate of soda there I think this is supposed to deter them.

Also, every time you see him sniffing around there grab hold of him and take him to his tray.

    HTH!
