Welcome Vic. I think LP should be at least 10 days, but odd things happen from time to time. Mine is normally 14 days exactly, but went down to 12 last month for no apparent reason, so it could have been a bit of a one off for you. I also had a 20 day cycle last year (before I was tracking OV) so that might also have been a short LP.

There are things you can do - I think someone here uses progesterone cream (is that you code?) but not sure of effectiveness.

AFM, I'm really not sure if I've Ov'd this month. A few signs, and today got a negative OPK - and CM has disappeared. So presumably something happened. I'm messing with my nice regular cycle this month with a bit of low dose soy, and some random chinese medicine (Bai feng wan), so who knows what could be going on!

Should hear about DH's SA tomorrow. Then preparing myself for a depressing conversation with the FS as my tests are not good...
  • Hi Vic,

Welcome to the ttc thread. Hope your stay is short and sweet. I got a cheap basal thermometer from amazon and opened a free fertility friend account back in January which I then upgraded when I realised that it wasn't going to be plain sailing.

You need to take your temp first thing in the morning before getting out of bed. I set my alarm for a half hour before I normally wake take my temp and nod back off till my usual wake up time. Fertility Friend will put cross hairs on your chart for you AFTER you have ovulated but usually after a few months you will see your own pattern emerge. I like charting for two reasons: 1. I get to confirm whether or not I ovulated that month 2. I know that when my temps plummet down to the coverline my af is only a day away which is the first time in my life that I have ever been able to predict my af in advance.

You can also add details of cm and input when you have bd so you know if you are hitting your fertile window.

Welcome Sweaty Betty too. Hope your next bean is a sticky one.

Well ladies, I'm joining toothfairy and becca on the what on earth is my body doing this month lark.

I'm supposedly 17DPO today. No signs of AF whatsoever, and I normally get spotting a couple of days prior.

Had a super faint line (evap) on my birthday so took a digi which was not pregnant - how depressing :o Why couldn't I get a baby as my present?! :o

I ran out of tests, but picked up a couple of cheapies (like ICs but you can get them in Savers - not sure if Savers is a Yorkshire shop or nationwide tho...). Evap line on the first one - bright white on the other one. Will test again in the morning tho with FMU but not in the slightest bit hopeful really ok thats a lie, I am always hopeful, but maybe if I pretend I aren't then it might tempt fate?! :o

I know what you mean about not giving up hope :) hugs to you xx

  • brrr cold cold cold this morning, and my first iced up car windscreen of the year! I quite like the cold weather though..I think it's because it means Christmas is coming and I am such a child when it comes to that!

abis - good luck testing. Never give up hope either, the mantra is until the witch arrives, you can still be in with a chance.

T2D - good luck with OH's SA results tomorrow x

vic3 - Welcome to the thread. As other's have said, hope you don't need to be here too long, but whilst you are you'll get lots of support from the folks here.

toothfairy - sorry for BFN, but has your AF actually turned up yet?

becca - I'm joining you on what on earth is my body up to, too. I have no idea if I have ov'd this month, keep thinking my EWCM has gone, and then a load more appears! We've given up for this month though, but from next it;s back on the digi opk's.

Tinks - I'm glad that you and DH are talking and helping each other through. Of course it will take time to come to terms with what's happened. One day at a time chick, it's all we can do xx

Hope everyone has a good day x

    Hi everyone,

Really sorry I can't read back and I hope everyone is doing okay. Big hugs to anyone on CD1 and congratulations to any BFP's.

I've just had my HSG and everything looked fine. I have a very bicornuate uterus but the consultant didn't seen all that bothered by it as I have managed to conceive before. Tubes and ovaries look fine. She did have some trouble getting dye into my tubes so I have decided that there were some little blockages that I have now been cleared and I will conceive no problem this month! ha!

I'm on my 5th day of having incredibly dark OPK's. Ive been doing 3 a day - morning, noon and night and they have all been really positive with the 'test' line appearing before the urine has even got to the 'control' line! No temp rise yet so soy has done something!

I will try and catch up later tonight. I am off to meet a friend for the day whom I haven't seen for a long time so I am very excited!

    Have a lovely day everyone,

    Lily xx

    Becca I don't want a reset button I want a pregnant button :o:(

BFN again this morning. I haven't done anything differently this cycle, no supplements, no stress, no illness. My last 3 cycles have been 31-32 days, but I got a positive OPK on CD14 this time, so presumed I would maybe have a shorter cycle. CD33 today n nothing  I am stressing a little now. I like to be in control and know what is happening. So wishing it will be a BFP but in reality don't think it is :o I have had 43 day cycles before, so really hoping I aren't in for a longer one as I felt like I was doing loads better :(

Oooo, MV I don't like the cold weather at all! I am with you on loving christmas tho :rudolf:

Hey Lilymay - long time no speak. Good news that your HSG went well :j They scanned my ovaries when I had my mmc and they were noted as 'unremarkable'. It always makes me laugh for some reason. I think they should have thought of a better descriptive word - not sure what tho :rotfl: Hope you enjoy seeing your friend.

I'm doing my first craft show tomorrow - any tips Tinks?? Am getting v nervous now. Still got some more things to make up and finish off tonight...

DH is v poorly too, which is not like him :( Hes got a terribly upset tummy and was up and down to the loo all night like a yoyo so I feel like I've had hardly any sleep. Which is then making me feel really tearful too - oh dear!! :o

1dpo here. But nothing else interesting going on.

Hullo vic3! and welcome to the madhouse.
Remember never judge someone that makes a mistake, because in six months time it may be you that makes the next mistake.
  • My turn to have an AUUUUGGGHHHH!!!!! moment re FB.

A 'friend' of mine, who has always spoken of how much she hates children/parents/babies/prefers cats to humans etc has recently announced her pregnancy - ok so I was a bit miffed/jealous etc but thought fine, she's grown past that stage and the clock has started ticking etc.

However, ever since then all she does is update her status about how she is hating pregnancy, mainly because she can't drink or smoke anymore (both of which she used to do in abundance..I mean a seriously unhealthy lifestyle), is finding it boring and generally a bit of a drag as it is stopping her doing what she wants to do (ie drink/smoke/party etc)

I had to ask the question 'tell me again why you decided to get yourself pregnant?' on her wall, which is probably not going to go down to well but !!!!!!, she's blessed with a healthy pregnancy despite her own health being compromised by her lifestyle, and now she has been blessed she seems utterly unappreciative of the whole thing and just whines about it constantly on FB.

Sorry...just needed to get that off my chest.

Obviously she's never struggled with ttc and all the associated sadness when you are desperate to have a baby, but honestly I do feel like slapping her.

She is going on 'ignore' from now on btw.
