Trying for a Baby Part 8

After writing this I’ve realised it’s just one big garbled message so I thought I’d best warn you all first
I’m popping out of lurkville as I’ve been thinking about this whole TTC lark quite a bit lately and feel as though I’m just drifting on by without actually TTC. I’d got to the point where it was all getting to me too much and decided that I needed to take a step back. But now I feel as though I took too much of a step back. Trouble is I don’t ovulate at the moment and so I feel “actively” trying is just futile and leads to me feeling miserable. I need to find a happy median.
With regards to the lack of ovulation I need to lose weight (still) to either kick start it naturally or be able to get clomid. My periods are also all over the place. I see that I’m CD70 but I would say that for the last 40 days I’ve been all over the place. This bit might be TMI: One minute there’s nothing, then there’s a bit of “browning”, then there’s very small clots, then last night a massive clot but never any real flow. This also results in zero BD (as there’s always something going on to a certain extent) which also doesn’t help. Even though I know I don’t ovulate I still live in hope that a miracle will happen and I’ll have magically ovulated and got pregnant.
I’m trying to work out my happy median action plan and I guess I’m looking for some ideas. I’m thinking that I need to avoid things like temping and OPK’s (as that’s just depressing) and focus on losing weight (which is a huge mission in itself) and keeping tack of my cycle (and all the weird little things that happen). I also bought some agnus castus a while ago so I think I might start taking them and see if it has any impact on my cycle. What do you guys think?
I just know that I need to do something as I can’t carry on feeling sorry for myself because I’m not pregnant when lately I haven’t actually done anything to make it happen. After all I’m not the Virgin Mary
I'm happy to see/hear from you againWere you ever referred to the gynae at all? Have you ever been prescribed progesterone or similar? I found that a cycle or two of norithisterone (for the HSG) has sort of restarted a more natural/normal cycle length. I know you know that weightloss is the ultimate goal here, else the won't help really, and you know if I can help you I will - but have they done any other tests on either of you in the meantime?
MV, sorry to hear of your second loss
 to everyone

Hi fannyanna! I can't offer much help on the kick-starting the cycle stuff as I am very regular (and realise how fortunate I am after reading some stories on this thread), but it seems like focusing on losing weight seems like a very sensible option!
And keeping an eye on your cycle so that you will know any changes that happen as a result of you losing weight also seems sensible.
Everyone on here is so supportive and it's a great place if you need to rant or offload! And don't ever worry about TMI - this is a total TMI thread and nobody minds at all!
I'm sure that some others will be along to offer advice on helping to make your cycle more regular. Good luck with it all and keep us posted!x
Thank you x:wave:

Hey Zippy
Nice to see a face I recognise. I sometimes lurk and feel completely out of it because I don't recognise anyone. I've started lurking on the baby threads because that's where everyone I remember currently resides
.
I've never been referred to gynae. I saw the guy when I was having to have treatment following my smear results and I mentioned that I was TTC. My old GP said that referring me to see the fertility specialist would be a waste of time as they wouldn't see me because of my BMI. I did ask about progesterone but I was told to just leave things as they are.
Whilst things weren't great before I at least had some form of a cycle (just long). But ever since I had treatment to remove the cells from my ccervix things have been messed up. But I've given up with doctors because no one ever cares and they just blame it on my weight.
I had norithisterone when I was suffering from that continuous heavy bleeding for 4 months (to try and stop it).
With regards to other tests hubby has had a SA (all fine) and I had blood tests to check for ovulation (negative) and had scans of my ovaries which is when they diagnosed the PCOS. I don't think they'd do anything else unless I was referred to the fertility specialist (which they wont do because of the weight).
Gosh, another ramble of a post :rotfl:
How are things with you and OH?0 -
fannyanna i'd get referred to a gynae if i was you to be treated for your PCOS, which for you would possibly be help losing weight and getting a regular cycle, both of which could be achieved by metformin, although obvoiusly i'm only going off my experience.
My gynae has done everything an FS would do for us, a HyCoSy, blood tests and most recently an SA for DH and we've been told that as the metformin dose i'm on had given me a regular cycle and my blood test showed i ovulated that we had to go away for six months and see if anything happened but if not then clomid.
Course, s*d's law says it was the cycle after i saw her that messed up, but then again it was the cycle i was very stressed and stopped being good with my diet and exercise.
too stressed for any healthy eating this week but i'm going to pound the frick out of that treadmill tonight! x xLittle Lowe born January 2014 at 36+6

Forgot to say that I used to take Metformin but I then had a fasting blood test which showed that my glucose levels were fine so I was told to stop taking the Metformin.0 -

Metformin a funny's one isn't it? Some drs swear by it, some think it's useless. My consultant insists on me taking even though a) AFAIK my glucose levels are fine, b) my BMI is fine and c) it makes me feel like death.
From googling (not scientfic I know), a lot of drs seem to be moving away from metformin use now for fertility issues.0 -
I know. It all gets so confusing as each doctor has a different approach to things.0

Half the time they even contradict themselves.0

Please tell me this is blank? I'm pretty sure it is but I think I can see a teeny tiny line.
