Trying for a Baby Part 8

((Hugs)) LTL - I had a similar experience in that the receptionist told me everything was 'satisfactory' and it was only when I booked a follow up appointment (off my own bat) that the GP said I might have PCOS! I would definitely book a face to face appointment with a GP (a nice one, if possible!) and ask what the next steps are. They should refer you for a scan of your ovaries to confirm if you have PCOS as they shouldn't diagnose it on bloods alone. Re: the weight loss - it can make a big difference, but people do underestimate how extremely difficult it can be. Would it be worth asking for a referral to a dietician or something? I know a number of people who have had success with the GI diet with PCOS, but it's not for everybody.
Glad you have friends to talk to about it, and remember to come on here and chat and rant as we are all here to support you, and a number of the ladies on here (including me) have experience of PCOS and will be happy to virtually chat about it.
Hope your OH can get his swimmers tested - as you say it's good to know now rather than later if there are any issues there.
In the meantime, big ((hugs)).
Thanks a lot mrsj, I really appreciate that.
I'll definitely be going back to the doctor, but preferably not the original one I saw!
Well that's the thing, it's a bit of a Catch 22 situation when I need to lose weight but if I have PCOS it could make it difficult. Me and DH have both been trying to lose weight since August - I have lost 9lbs whereas he has lost a stone and a half in that time.
Thanks, I'll look into the GI diet. When I originally saw the doctor, I asked to see a dietician, and he said he'd write to one but I'm not convinced he was telling the truth. That's not me being paranoid but he's already said no before and this time he said he could write but not to expect to hear anything. I pointed out that it could help with my weight loss!! I was asking originally because it turns out I have a food intolerance (which I diagnosed myself from Google, and which the doctor himself had to Google  and agreed that was probably what I had...)
Thank you, that's very kind of you.
And thanks for the hugs xxx
ETA: Just managed to get an appointment for tomorrow. x0 -
Hi everyone, haven't been on for ages, so will have to read back over all the posts I've missed.
QQ can you put me at 4 dpo please.
We managed to BD several times over the "right time" so fingers crossed now. The main day was when we were going to a rock concert, so we had to make a BIG effort to BD that day as we were both knackered! But we were staying in a posh hotel so that helped lol.
Hoping this is our month, but we'll see what happens - AF is due day before my birthday, so if we were lucky it'd certainly be a birthday to remember.
Off to catch up now.0 -
Ok ok, I'm weak. I tried to hold out..I really did, and I know it's really silly testing early but...I did.
On a FRER..and its a BFP.
I am very happy, but also very terrified. I got a BFP last month on a Sunday, and by the Thursday was bleeding, so honestly testing early is a double edged sword.
All I can do is hope and pray.Metranil dreams of becoming a neon,You don't even take him seriously,How am I going to get to heaven?,When I'm just balanced so precariously..0 -
