I quite like being a SAHM/Fulltime mum/housewife now and don't mind any of those labels.

The only label I don't really like is unemployed. As far as I am concerned I have a full-time job just like any other mum. (I have nothing against those mums that have to or choose to work, I'm impressed by it and wonder how on earth they manage it!)

At first I hated being a SAHM though! Particularly once baby had arrived when out with hubby, people asked what hubby did for a job and ignored me completely - not even entering their mind that I might do something other than look after a baby.

    Hope everyone is Ok.
I don't think I actually ov-ed last cycle and it's getting on a bit this cycle so I think I've only ovulated once, if I actually did. Boooo.

Sammy - yeah I think looking after a baby all day is most definitely a full time job - I once looked after an ill baby for 36 hours and thought I was going to collapse with exhaustion :rotfl:

I know that feeling! My little girl had Whooping Cough aged 7 weeks. Escaped lightly really with only a couple of days in hospital but took 10 weeks for her to recover. Every cough meant sitting her up and helping her clear her airways so she could breathe, day and night. That was exhausting.

  • I would say looking after a child is way harder work than any job.

I do both, Monday - Wednesday I work, and Thursday and Friday I am a full time mum. It makes me smile when people in my office say on a Wednesday 'ooh your weekend starts today you lucky thing'. I always say no my other job begins! Mon-Weds is often a bit of a breather! :rotfl:

    Good luck tomorrow lily.

Oh wow thats scary at that age. Glad shes was all ok. They are giving a vaccine now to pregnant ladies I heard on the news. Yeah the baby I looked after had a cold and was up alllll night. Just wanted to either play or cry. He was NOT interested in sleeping :rotfl:
  • Thanks MV will definitely be trying those :) I'm doing ok, terrified every moment that its all going to go wrong again but trying to enjoy it anyway. Thankyou for asking, I really miss you ladies

That made me laugh. My husband thinks thats what I am.

Everyday he phones home and asks what I've been upto. I say nothing different really, entertaining baby & housework. Then he makes out like I should have got a million other things done too and I must have been sat on my backside all day!

I know he doesn't really mean it and he really knows how much hard work it is when he's away and I'm all on my own, but every now and then I let him know what he can do with this other list of jobs I "should" have done.
