It is not about respect, it is about the reputation of the police as given by this:

Your post still didn't make any sense. We aren't talking about the British empire.

Even back in 1976 there were people who did not believe they wee the best in the world.

In case you didn't realise, there will always be people with different views.

I didn't say they were the best in the world, I just said that they had one of the bets reputations...deserved or not, I wouldn't like to say.

Which still doesn't explain why you brought the empire into it! So Jamie respects the Police and thinks they're ok. He (rightly) believes there are far worse police forces out there. I still fail to see what the British Empire has to do with that. It's an opinion. It's not a view that the british are better than anyone else.

And before i get accused of being on the side of anyone, i will say that I've had good and bad experiences with the police from feeling like they don't give a damn to finding that there are one's who care and will go out of their way to help. It's the same with anything in life, you've got good and bad and your opinion is going to be conditioned by your own personal experiences. There is no right or wrong opinion though!

The time when the british police either had the best reputation or were thought to have it has long gone.

Whatever your 'Join Date', Jamie, the fact remains that you are post junkie.

Though the souls seeking to correct your nonsense are also to blame.
