  • Hi Mandy

Generally fitting a standard din car stereo is a piece of cake, you just need the right connecting lead (somewhere between £10 and £20 in halfords, tho you may be lucky and find that your car already has ISO connectors, saving you this expense)

HOWEVER it's always worth checking to see if anyone else ever had problems...

    http://www.usedcarmart.co.uk/forum/archive/index.php/t-2995.html for example.

Have a read and decide if you're confident in doing this yourself. The stereo takes about a week for delivery going by other posters, so your dad may be back just in time to do it for you!

I have a renault scenic which has the steering wheel controls , can anyone who has bought one please tell me what sockets it has on the back

i know there would be the usual 2 blocks for the speakers and power etc but does it have the long thin socket too ???

My dad had mine hooked up in my Clio in about 5 minutes last night. :)

Was a bit disappointed that my Creative Zen MP3 player wouldn't work through the USB port... It was recognising it, but wasn't playing... Could have something to do with it trying to read 50+ gig of music... Went and bought a cheapo 256 meg MP3 player for a fiver, so that'll do me in the meantime, lol!
  • lowdenclear, does your Zen have a setting to make it appear as a mass storage medium, instead of as an mp3 player? I have a sansa that has to be switched to this when i want to hook it up to something!

I don't know if that'll work either. Mp3 players are supposed to be connected via the line in at the back. I drilled a hole in the glove compartment wall and fed it though there. Better to b uy yourself a 1gb card for a fiver off amazon and use that. You can also get a 1gb kingston memory stick for about £8.
    Hope this helps.
  • So the memory sticks just plug straight in?!

Mine arrived today. The only thing was it looked a little battered. The box wasn't in great shape and the fascia had a few nicks in it. Has eveyone's elses been in mint condition?
