  • Evening everyone!

Congrats on the job stokegal :j

Did you manage to hunt down a cheap tv katepnlo? It's always the case when you're so close that something mucks it up

Thanks to all you lovely people I have managed to get my butt into gear on the cc front - I've been ebaying away to my hearts content, got a part time job interview on Wednesday (fingers crossed for it as it'll fit in perfectly with my own work) and I've just sent off my first letter today to claim back my bank charges.

I have a bit of a dilemma though. I transferred my cc balance to one with 0% on balance transfers for 12 months, mainly because I'm wanting out of my bank and my cc was with my bank. The transfer is going to take 2-3 weeks so I've got all the money I've made and am making for this challenge in my bank account until thats done, but I went to the dentist at the end of last week and I need a LOT of work done :o so do I a)Just pay off the cc asap as I was going to or b)pay the cc off at minimum payments (or just over minimum) keeping the money in my account to pay my dentist fees since I'm not going to be paying interest on the card

I really just want rid of the card though, I hate having it hanging round my neck. Argh, I think I've just answered my own question :rotfl:

    Hi all :hello:

SparklyScot - if your CC is at 0% I would use the money in the bank for your dentist bills first, and then see how much you've got left - you'll obviously make a bit of money if you keep it in an isa or something until the 0% deal is up, but psychologically you might be better off paying it off now.

Stokegal - congratulations on the new job!

Katepnlo - have you checked freecycle for a TV? Hope you manage to make your final payment!

I am oh, so close it's getting a bit tantalising! My figures at the moment show I'll be £154 OD at the end of the month, but that's not including Ebay, IR & utility switching money I'm expecting in (didn't want to count my chickens in case it takes a while!)

    Good luck everyone!

Well done on the job Stokegal :T :T

Everyone is doing really well. I have managed to get my card to under £900 with some mystery shopping money :D

I've been really busy this week and have got no less than 10 mystery shops (already completed 5 of them though ;) ).

Need to try and get some more lined up for next week but they're a bit thin on the ground at the moment.

I am definitely going to extend my challenge to the end of June now.

    Good luck all

  • Hi

Hope its not too late to jump on board for the challenge !!!

I have to clear a Cahoot loan asap, as they are the only ones still charging me penalties on my DMP (£30 each and every month    )

So for every £21 I give them under the plan they are charging me £30 ! It doesn't seem fair but hey they wont even take the phonecalls now as am in a DMP. Enough ranting I think.

Need to find £1547 to get rid of them so will put in overtime and look for another job and also look into this ebay thing that seems to be working so well for everyone - hadn't thought of that. Good luck everyone hope you manage it XX:j
