Of course you can :) The old style method using something similar is called Flylady.

The newer version I found was a thing called UnF*ck Your Habitat. You do 20 minutes cleaning then a 10 minute break. If you want long then 45 minutes cleaning with a 15 minute break. I have an app on my phone with the timers in. It's on tumblr and people post before and after photos to show how much you can get done and lots of tips. Their main love is cleaning using only vinegar solutions, gets so much clean, but I'm working my way through the masses of flash products I have which I get cheap at work.

Fallen is that an American blog/website? Do you know of anything similar that is British - sorry Robin hijacked your thread for a mo

It is american but anyone can post on it (In fact I occasionally post on UFYH) you just set up a Tumblr blog and tag your posts with the acronym. They have a global following so you get pretty good advice, it makes me giggle when they talk about top loader washers and other strange american systems but it's good. They seem to love Mr Clean Magic Erasers which we can't get here but apparently there are none branded ones starting to crop up in A$da.

The thing I like is the challenges they normally set. The time zone difference make the "make your bed" notice useless to me but it has got me in the habit of doing it everyday. I find the evening list helpful but I never do it:

    - wash the dishes in your sink
    - get your outfit for tomorrow together
    - set up tea/coffee/breakfast
    - make your lunch
    - put your keys somewhere obvious
    - wash your face and brush your teeth
    - charge your electronics
    - pour a little cleaner in the toilet bowl
    - set your alarm
    - go to bed at a reasonable hour.

I do the important ones but the dishes never get done :rotfl:

'Morning Diary and MSE friends, :hello:

Well well; learn something new every day - I thought "Flylady" was a purely MSE thing, had no idea it is world-wide. The US site was too scary for me as well - am happy hanging about on here (which takes up quite enough time - DS thinks too much!).

Yesterday's trip turned out very well; lovely walk, spent some time meditating by DH's grave, his flowers looked so lovely I took 'photos, then friend and I visited a local farm shop instead of the garden centre. So my additional spend was a quarter of what it would have been; just bought some art cards which I'll send out today (use up my stamps).

A courier got me out of bed shortly after seven this morning, but it wasn't my €€s being delivered; instead a rather alarming package for DS: A huge box of weight-loss gunk - rather worrying unless he's bought it for me - he definitely doesn't need to lose any more! ..Hope this isn't his teenage obsession rearing it's ugly head again just when I won't be here to keep an eye on him.

Hardly! ..You should see the state of my room at the moment. :rotfl:

Here's a confession; recently discovered that my iron had gone rusty - it's been so long since it was used! ..What with having weak arms anyway from the ME and now this other problem with my writing hand, the only clothes that get ironed are my formal suits - which the dry cleaner does for me. ;)

That said, I really do like the idea of setting an alarm and spending a short, set time on tasks I'd prefer to avoid; it worked very well for me yesterday especially as I found some ££ which I'd completely forgotten about! :D
