Welcome to the weekly Flylady thread. If you need help organising your week or getting motivated when it comes to housework then come and join us.

There are 3 levels per day with Level 1 being very basic, level 2 in the middle, up to 3 which is more advanced and time consuming. Feel free to mix and match to suit your own personal circumstances.

Every room comes back around next week so please don’t stress about catching up

These lists are only suggestions and not a must do list; you are more than welcome to post and follow your own lists.

Also adding a declutter mission each day will help to gradually clear the clutter and make flying easier.

A few of the basics before we start the week:

Hotspots
are areas where if one thing gets put there, loads of other things follow!

Daily routines are anything you need to do on a daily basis like washing, swish and swipe kitchen and bathroom, ironing, making beds, vacuuming high traffic areas, making meals etc.

Night-time routines are all things which make getting ready in the morning easier, preparing clothes for the next day, making lunches, swish & swipes of the kitchen and tidying the living room before you go to bed plus personals like shower/brush teeth etc.

Fling Boogie - stick on some loud music, grab a bin bag and whiz around the house finding items that can go out with the rubbish, recycling, for charity shop, basically anything that will stop it cluttering your home.

Swish and swipe/S&S means have a quick wipe over an area such as a sink or toilet to prevent the build up of dirt. This is usually done on a daily basis

HHE/HHC/HHI Half Hour exercise/challenge/ironing ... run around for 30 minutes to the Benny Hill music frantically cleaning exercising or ironing.. other music may be used if you prefer!

Things have gone a bit haywire round here and Xmas etc is creeping up on me.

Need to get back in a proper routine + declutter to sell so I'm jumping on board.

    Extra tasks for the week.

Sell cabin bed on ebay (Xmas funds).
Get rid of son's broken toys.

Make Xmas cake and put away (got ingredients so just need to use them lol!)

Cheers jj - Mr LW is off work (annual leave to use up) from Monday to Thursday; he's promised we'll do some efficient Flying - as in better than I've been managing, as he'll be able to lift stuff about that I can't; so we'll be in, but deffo off-list!:D Posting may be sporadic, though, as there's bound to be a price for his assistance.;);):D
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)
  • Many thanks to jj for the thread!

have decluttered a mountain of ironing today - I can see the bottom of the chest it lives in! Nearly there!

I'm in for this week - need to look at the hall and give it a right good going over...

At teatime there were only 3 of us sitting down to a full roast dinner - sadly the youinger 2 were sleeping off hangovers/nights out! It kind of makes me sad - Sunday tea used to be a real treat....

Thanks for the new thread, juliejim.

Alan the decorator has finished the hall, stairs and landing - we're just waiting for the carpet fitter to come and re-lay the stairs carpet (hopefully tomorrow) - so I shall be flying again as from tomorrow. I didn't do any flying at all last week because I didn't want to stir up the dust and find it sticking to the wet paint - well, that was my excuse :D

The Christmas cake still isn't done but I have managed to list a lot of little things on eB@y for free this weekend and already have bids for some of them. It won't make me a millionaire but it will help with the Christmas shopping. At the same time I've also cleared out more of the junk in my study and binned a lot of it, and I feel much better for having some clear space around me - I can see the carpet again :) And DH mowed the lawns yesterday :A so if the good weather continues this week I will get out in the garden and tidy up the borders.

(((Hugs))) to all who need them - especially CY's DD - and good luck helen jelly in your hunt for a decent school for your DD.

Sunday roast dinner is nearly ready, yum yum! :j
  • Thank you juliejim :A I hope you have many hours restful soothing sleep.

Thanks also to dusty for last week :A

I didn't manage to keep to the lists much last week, as I ended up in work 6 days out of 7... again... and as a consequence I'm very tired and run down. I did follow the thread though, and you all kept me motivated do to the basics so a big thank you to everyone xx
