Apologies for my absence; been a bit wobbly and not very well. Stupid things are really getting to me; for example, just had a quick look on the Families board to see if a particular poster has been on-line. She hasn't, but another thread caught my eye: Someone wanting a new relationship just after splitting up with her fella. She's got healthy big kids, her own home seems secure enough but she wants a new bloke to prop her up and people are saying 'get counselling' - dear Lord I would so love to be in her position. I'd willingly put up with the pain of PC going off with a floozy; just knowing he was still alive and there for our kids would be enough..
Don't worry, I didn't comment.
Unfortunately, some people don't realise how lucky they areYesterday I had to go out and get a replacement item for someone; we'd borrowed it and DS broke it by accident. Suddenly I just wanted to hear PC laughingly say 'You twerp! Ok let's sort this out' - had to pull over until I could see again and had stopped shaking. Suppose I was lucky the Police didn't spot me on the hard shoulder of the motorway. Even luckier that I didn't cause an accident!
*hugs*Have pulled myself together a bit this morning - PC wouldn't approve of me turning into a useless jelly heap!
Ummmmm.... No!! Very unlikely!!! Allow yourself your wee 'moments' and blub all you want/need/can, then as you say 'pull yourself together'

Sorry you haven't felt great Robin, but it's perfectly understandable. You've been so incredibly strong and its obvious how much you love and miss PC. Big hugs and thinking of you. Take care of yourself XxDebts @ LBM £23,729.31. Debts @ 08/04/2016 £0 :j

Hello Diary and dear MSE friends, :hello:
Is it Saturday again - already?Time I wrote a list of Essential Things To Do before leaving.. One job that can definitely be left off is seeing what Tosco have on their whoopsied shelf today - definitely have enough food left for self and Daft Dogs, though I'm likely to be eating salmon steaks for every meal from now on; at least it's a healthy option. :rotfl:
Have solved the accommodation problem by inviting Tenant to move into the half of the house that's already cleared and clean, as my guest - we'll see how it goes and that should nudge me to move on; one positive is that we can do the inventory together.
Still no Bereavement Benefit payment from DWP, but got a letter this morning saying they overpaid DH's DLA after he died - I 'phoned them the day it went into his bank a/c querying it and they said then it was correct. Now the a/c is frozen I can't check or do much about it - they're on my list to call on Monday; will tell them I'll repay it as soon as they sort out my BB.
I've started packing the van with stuff I won't need until getting to the other end - xmas treats, files and spare bedding, mostly.
Thinking about hotels; hoping to visit mates in Pompey the night before sailing which crosses one off the list, then should be able to drive as far as my favourite stop-over the next day - very cheap anyway; £30 for bed + food - then the next night fingers xxxed it will be warm enough to sleep in the van on the dogs' bed (with them). Not comfy, very hairy, but doable.
Have just transferred some funds to my foreign card - now realised I've forgotten the number, aargh! So will have to change more ££ into €€, enough to get to my 'home' branch where the lovely manager will be able to sort it out, hopefully.HeadAboveWater wrote: »Ummmmm.... No!! Very unlikely!!! DH just didn't understand emotional weakness so would not have been sympathetic. Which does help in an odd way; imagining how he'd look at me, then awkwardly give me a hug.0 -

Hello Diary, and thanks for dropping by, NewLeaf and Igamogam, :hello:
Well I'm still sitting here in the middle of the most unbelievable chaos, wrapped in two jumpers and a furry dressing-gown.
Didn't make much progress yesterday at all, and met a very negative woman with two unbelievably aggressive terriers while out walking Daft Dogs - which was really depressing; silly I know.
Not making much progress today either, keep getting interrupted, so Daft Dogs and I are going further afield for our walk.Oooh off to the homeland........I am a teeny bit envious;) When are you hoping to leave?
Pretty soon as I've given up on signing the important papers for now - looking at another three week wait for the solicitor to return from holiday for that, so will fly back instead when the papers are ready. Just have one more medical appointment next week, must finish clearing my room & bathroom, do the rest of the inventory, sign up Tenant officially, chuck everything in van - and drive!0 -

I think that's just a 'guy' thing. OH really doesn't know where to look if I get emotional (which is quite a lot!!)

'Morning Diary,
Something's missing today; after two cuppas I've worked out that it's my headache - yay!So am looking forward to a more productive day, hopefully.
Must try and sort out a new bank account - been dithering on that for far too long.. So it's on today's list - will report back later.
Just hassled the BB people [DWP] they say it's sorted out; first lump payment will go into my a/c next Monday (why not today if it's been done? Hmm forgot to ask that; oh well).
What else is on the list? Cancel dental insurance - they've changed their terms, taken off DS and won't cover me abroad.
It's raining so can't show Tenant how to work the new lawnmower.
Need to get a team of apple harvesters together and sort out the tree before the weight of fruit breaks the branches - doubt there will be much more ripening sun at this stage, so must do that on the next dry day and distribute the fruit.
What else? Ah the wretched PPI "complaint" - find the paperwork for that [again] and send it off to the FO. Hmm.
That bank have just sent me the final statement for the loan I paid off recently - showing all the interest they charged which was not visible on the internet banking page - absolutely appalling! Over a third of each monthly payment was interest.. A couple of minutes with the calculator proves that I've saved almost £4K by paying that off early!
Which reminds me - N@twest are sitting on DH's savings - time to find out when that sum will be released, if I can find the right 'phone number.HeadAboveWater wrote: »I think that's just a 'guy' thing. OH really doesn't know where to look if I get emotional (which is quite a lot!!)

You're saying my OH doesn't have an excuse then?!?!? lolJust messin!
At least you got a hug from PC, awkward or otherwise! OH usually either grumps at me and leaves the room, or rolls his eyes and leaves the room :rotfl:Evening? ..Think I wrote that just after midday lol! Oops - more discipline required.
