Happy birthday Robin, I hope that you have a great walk and a yummy meal. So pleased that DS will not be driving GD in the car. Somewhere in the UK a coroner's court recently ruled that inadequate maintenance and under inflated tyres were the cause of 2 children being killed whilst being driven by a step-parent/partner, so very sad.
Hedgehogs are not doing too well in this part of the country I understand, I have noticed so many road casualties and the huge growth in the population of badgers is decimating them, always winners and losers in the natural world when there is imbalance. The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. Hello World, :hello:
Thank you everyone for your birthday wishes, although it feels like 'my day' was a long time ago now..
Good news first: Clever Dog is going from strength to strength.
Dear Vet can provide a prescription for the supplement I'm giving CD (- a relief as we're down to a weeks' supply). Interestingly, it's controlled - only available at the pharmacy - which explains why I could never find it in H&B-type shops here.
Live and learn; until now I've had to ask DS4 to send supplies.
Not such good news: The new medication DS2 has been given helped him initially, but a couple of weeks down the line the effects - or perhaps side-effects? - are taking a frightening toll on him; Divo Two desperately wants another solution.
The main recognised use of this drug is to control seizures when 'first line' epilepsy meds become ineffective, although it's apparently also being trialled for illnesses such as cancer and AIDS (DS2 doesn't suffer from any of these conditions). Nobody told Two he is part of a trial, but I can't help wondering?
On this drug DS2 is either so full of energy he can't sit still, or he's barely concious. Something is very wrong with his brain chemistry at the moment; there's no way it would be safe for him to take DGD on holiday.
<sigh> Am floundering; this is way beyond my experience or reading. Just don't understand why this particular drug has been prescribed for DS2's - admittedly rare, not completely understood - health problem?
In desperate need of professional advice, so intend to take Two to the private GP and ask for a fast referral to Doc's expert of choice.
Think this would be a good idea even if the cost had to go onto a CC, so am grateful for DH' savings which will avoid new debt (Two appears to have given away most of his wages, to various good causes that caught his attention over the last week).
Needless to say; even if CD gets permission to travel tomorrow, there's no point in packing yet.
Spends: Groceries - £45.
ps. Lubava - thank you very much for coming out of lurkdom for my birthday! :T
Seen your name pop up and hoped you'd join us at the Nest - so welcome, welcome!
Missrlr No words, many (((((hugs))))) and much love.. Thinking of you :grouphug:0 -
