Well, I am well and truly gobsmacked by how little you are all paying!

I knew here in Cornwall we paid over the odds but didn't realise by quite how much!

I pay £80 per month, without a water meter. I did think about having one put in but with four of us, a lovely garden to water and swimming pool erected each summer, i'm not sure it would be worth it.

My parents and in-laws both pay £120 each per month  . I am astounded how much we are being ripped off by. With that and the over-inflated council tax bills, I think we are paying through the nose.

You mean paying through the hose. :rotfl:

    Seriously though
    a) It may be worth checking your Rateable Value (RV) on your bill. Also check you are being charged correct tariffs. Compare tariffs with your bill.

    b) Also see here.

Couple of questions re Welsh Water:
    1. If I have a meter installed and it costs me more can I change back to rateable value within 12 months
    2. Anyone with Welsh Water on a meter in similar situation to me.
2 adults, 1 12 year old. 1950's 4 bed semi. Dishwasher and washing machine on 5 days out of 7. At least 3 showers per day often 6. Only about 3 baths per week. Water garden during summer. Wash cars once a month. If so how much do you pay?

    Ta

You can change back at any time within the first 12 months for any reason.

It's just me and the wife, both in work all day, in a 3 bed semi (1960's), no dishwasher, 2 showers per day (approx.) and paying circa £28 per month (2 people - average usage - assesed meter charge).

I've been arguing with them over this for the past 2 years and haven't got anywhere so far but I'm still trying.

I too am with SWW (south west water). I went on a meter 8 years ago, 2 of us in a 3 bed semi with medium garden that we water, but also have a water butt. Just had our bill £100 a every 3 months.
