Ford ripping out parts of my car!

I have a 03 Ford StreetKa, that seems to develop a problem with the handles getting in an out of the vehicle. Each year they go dead and I have to take it to the dealer (Peoples, Edinburgh) to get them fixed (approx £35). This year was no exception... well it was, this is what happened:
I took the vehicle to the dealer only to be told that 4 parts were completely broken and the damage would be in the region of £350+.
I was then told that the 'near side' handle was completely broken.
Now I knew it could not open the door, but it was still able to lock the door, electronically, when pushed in. When this is done the drivers door follows suit.
Well it did on the way 'in' to the show room, but not on the way out. One thing they probably will wish I have missed!
Here is a picture of the 'wrenched out' connector, that still works, if you hold it against the connectors. (sorry, it is not very photogenic!:o)

[FONT="]Beyond this they 'gutted out' the entire door. Here is what it should look like:

and

and here is what they returned with!

and

They then mentioned that they were to order the parts for this Wednesday, but were trying to insist that I leave the car with them! (this was before I saw what they had done) - it was very apparent that they had no idea what to do initially (before butchering my StreetKa) but went ahead, none the less. They knew that if I saw the destruction they had done on my StreetKa, I would probably be doing what I am doing now.
So their plan was to work on my perceived ignorance and passive complaining (that most people would do just grin and bear it) and move on to the next piece of work.
I will be sending them a copy of this and hopefully the manager will read it tomorrow and get back to me. If anyone can give me e-mails of higher up members of management, even to CEO level then that would be much appreciated. (press is welcome also)
Many thanks for reading, hopefully the press will find this an interesting story of customer care as well.

excluding a broken connector
All i see if a removed interior door panel?
how did you expect them to work on the door?
They wanted you to leave the car and they return a working car to you,no?
As for getting the Police involved.seriously?0 -
they are fixing it
you'd be moaning if they charged you to put it back together and then apart again
Police, LOL just LOL0 -
I am trying to work out what that rant is all about, you took the car to a garage to get it fixed, from your description the mechanical linkage would appear to be broken, they wanted to keep the car till the parts came in and repair it and then reassemble the door panel.
As post above how on earth did you expect them to repair it without taking the panel off.0 -
thats disgusting
you have put up pictures of totally naked inner door sections of a ford ka
what if younger inner door ka door panels saw this0 -
There is such a thing as a screwdriver. It was obvious from the onset, they had no idea what they were doing.
Also physically grabbing cables an ripping them out of their sockets. Increasing the price 10 fold... some of you guys must have money to burn.
PLUS the door handle thing is a design fault on ALL Ka generations.0 -
PLUS that is the only thing I have found after 10 mins investigation. I have had idt done 8 times in the past and this carnage has never happened before... total incompetence. That i am meant to pay for.0

This is dealerships for you, the mechanics (if you can call em that) only know how to plug in a diagnostics machine.
Oh and the dealership is not Ford as such, it's a franchised dealership.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

Another issue was the broken button that brings the window down... so why does that mean I need a knew handgrip as well? The button can be removed from the handgrip.0

^^ Removing door skins is not for amateurs, they've probably broken just about every bit of plastic going in their attempt to get at the insides. My guess is they forgot to remove one screw and tried to lever the plastic apart causing it to snap or to be heavily damaged......
Not to mention the fact they work on brand new cars all day long and have a certain amount of "don't give a sh*t if I break it" when they are presented with something more than a few years old.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

Cummon... the handgrip is 1 screw, then disconnect the wiring. The fact that the car is old is irrelevant, my £1 is just as equal to a new £1.
My main point is that this has been done for me 8 times in the past in under 20mins. If they are incompetent they should not take on the job and I will go elsewhere.
And you guys slag of my reasoning?!?!?!?! Geez.0
