    - try Wilko's ant killer - I will upload a picture later if you want; it does for any crawling insects and I used it with a baby/toddler in the house and a cat. And it's invisible once it dries, unlike ant powder.

Oh, Valli, that did make me laugh - new cure for a migraine? :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Pleased to say that I'm better this morning so won't need to try it! :T
I think it's dragonette who found the beetle. ;)

I have been working out in the garden this morning but it is too hot to stay out there, so have come in to cool down and get lunch, then I must do a bit of shopping. We have friends coming to lunch tomorrow and DH has got his heart set on a Bakewell tart as made by the Hairy Bikers (with fresh raspberries in the filling). Otherwise it will be a weird selection of salads and meats and halloumi cheese kebabs for the vegetarian daughter. The 3 kids are coming to stay with us for a weekend in September while their parents go away for a well-earned break - a bit of a shock to our systems, but we can hand them back afterwards, hopefully all in one piece.

    Afternoon ladies

Not much flying done this week.

Ive had one of those weeks where it has been bad news all week and so my fly lady took a boot rather than a back seat.

My friend sadly at 8.5months pregnant lost her baby tuesday night.:cry::cry::cry::cry::cry: A much longed for little boy (she already has two daughters) who was about to complete their little family They think there was a problem with the placenta but they had less fetal movement on monday and were given the news on Tuesday. She gave birth to him on Wednesday morning and said he is/was perfect in every way. I feel absolutely awful for them and still cannot find any words for them other than simply 'Im always here if and whenever you need me'. :(

Then yesterday not only was it 3 years yesterday that I miscarried my twins (still cant get past it), but I also had an absessed tooth ripped out which is still hurting like a b**ch but I came home to get a text message from Owen telling me that his ex girlfried (he has son with her - hence the contact) had misscarried her baby at 3 months. :(:(:(:(:( me and her never really got on at the beginning but we are much friendlier now so I've asked him to pass on my condolences and even though we don't talk much I have been there if she ever needs to talk to someone.

So this week is really not very good for me............:(:(:(:(:( if I manage to hide from the children for 10 minutes I might enjoy a coffee (through a straw as I still cant drink anything hot properly) and send up and out a little prayer to them all.

    Hopefully next week is better

    Hugs to Sammy Kaye.

My littley dog is a Westie, a real little character.

Today, get out the flags, I have completed everything that I woke up intending to do.

Off to read the paper and do that relaxing thing.
Spend less now, work less later.

Sammy_Kaye I am so very sorry to read the sad news re your friend. I can't begin to imagine; and it must've also stirred up some very raw emotion for you, too. Life can be so very unfair at times.

(((((((Sammy Kaye))))))) I was going to say 'Hi' and 'Thank you' to you today anyway for recommending a blog on your Personal details, but I can't just leave it at that with your sad news that must be reminding you of your loss. My condolences.

Valli Your vet will know which brands of flea treatment work in your area, because they vary regionally as hoppers become immune, I'm told. I've had to spray the carpets here with some really vicous stuff in the past when things got out of hand, and I haven't had any returns so I guess it was the right thing to do. Boodle suggests salt, but I haven't had a chance to try it yet, thank goodness.

Regarding carpet cleaning, our local branch of H$$ hires out industrial looking carpet cleaners that work incredibly well, and the spot pre-treatment they supplied was excellent. When I compared prices, they were by far and away the cheapest as well, although that was four years ago. They need redoing here, but this time I am going to make sure that the skirting boards are already clean - it made it the worst job imaginable to have to clean those first!

No actual flying done around here for 24 hours, but four loads of washing are a work in progress because it has finally, finally, finally stopped raining.
    Better is good enough.
