Welcome to the weekly Flylady thread. If you need help organising your week or getting motivated when it comes to housework then come and join us.

There are 3 levels per day with Level 1 being very basic, level 2 in the middle, up to 3 which is more advanced and time consuming. Feel free to mix and match to suit your own personal circumstances.

Every room comes back around next week so please don’t stress about catching up

These lists are only suggestions and not a must do list; you are more than welcome to post and follow your own lists.

Also adding a declutter mission each day will help to gradually clear the clutter and make flying easier.

A few of the basics before we start the week

Hotspots are areas where if one thing gets put there, loads of other things follow!

Daily routines
are anything you need to do on a daily basis like washing, swish and swipe kitchen and bathroom, ironing, making beds, vacuuming high traffic areas, making meals etc.

Night-time routines are all things which make getting ready in the morning easier, preparing clothes for the next day, making lunches, swish & swipes of the kitchen and tidying the living room before you go to bed plus personals like shower/brush teeth etc.

Fling Boogie - stick on some loud music, grab a bin bag and whiz around the house finding items that can go out with the rubbish, recycling, for charity shop, basically anything that will stop it cluttering your home.

Swish and swipe/S&S means have a quick wipe over an area such as a sink or toilet to prevent the build up of dirt. This is usually done on a daily basis

HHE/HHC/HHI Half Hour exercise/challenge/ironing ... run around for 30 minutes to the Benny Hill music frantically cleaning exercising or ironing.. other music may be used if you prefer!

    ooh

    I'm in

I think Dusty's been doing what I have

I think the opening and closing ceremonies were excellent - and am mighty cheered byt the appearance of George Michael...

and, now it's over I think the Olympics were splendid - very sporting to see all athletes being 'cheered on'

I'll try and be in this week though how much I'll get done this evening I don't know. I feel bleurgh this morning - it was far, far too hot for me last night so I didn't sleep at all well...

Thanks very much for the new list Dusty. I will try to do more than Level 1 this week. I have done lots of sorting out and taking sacks to the CS this weekend and as a result my house looks........ worse! I will try to do level 2 today as I like cleaning windows much more now I have my new window cleaning toy.

Valli - yes the Olympics were great. I am going to miss them today.

    I'm in too!

Aiming to hit the ironing, but will have to take DD2 to the GP's - her throat is so sore that breathing hurts and for the first time in 18 years she has ASKED to go ( rather than being dragged!)

Yes the Olympics were great we will miss them greatly - it was fab to go and be part of it ........ considering going to the Commonwealth games in 2014...

And the closing ceremony - well I had tears in my eyes when Gary Barlow appeared with Take that...

    Thanks for the list, Dusty.

I'm in this week - but it's been a bad start this morning, as I have discovered that water is dripping (slowly) through the bedroom ceiling, presumably from somewhere around the cold water tank, so I am about to ring the plumber.

I've pulled the bed away from the wall so I suppose I'd better wipe the skirting behind it before it goes back again. Every cloud has a silver lining...!

Thank f*** that palava is over.. maybe now we can have some sensibleness!

We have a gold phone box as well as a gold postbox now.. wonder how long they are leaving them like that.. *shrug* .. only as a passing wonder, I don't really care lol. The young man that won gold from our town the commentators had to apologise on air after reporting his mother was dead.. when she isn't.

Babies both still asleep and OH and I... are both up.. I am in agony, I've been awake half the night with my hips and back and I've not brought any painkillers with me and OTC stuff doesn't touch it.. I want my bed back.. the mattress is at least supportive and the memory foam thing helps massively with my hips.

sitting on the sofa is painful how the hell they expect me to trot round a museum today is anybody's guess but I am seriously considering sending OH and Squeak and staying here with his mother and Dot!

Triker... I hope your new job is everything you want it to be and you are happier there, I know you have been unhappy in your current role and former role and you worked so hard to get your qualifications you deserve to at least enjoy the job! xxx
