I am a very brave girl. I picked up the phone, and called SKY, and I cancelled my account...yes cancelled!
I had been thinking about it for a while, but was procrastinating for some time.
They offered me nothing, even though I have been a customer for 15 years +, so I called their bluff.
I am free, and am £60 a month better off.
GO ME! :T :rotfl: :T

Well done
All that spare £60 every month wow what will you do with all that, some treats maybe, that would pay for a nice holiday.
You won't miss it either, it might take a whole day to get used to it but freeview is fine for the casual viewer.
I'd get rid of our Virginmedia but my DH would go into meltdown without his Poirot. :rotfl:I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Old style MoneySaving boards.

I must admit, there are a few programmes I will actually miss that I won't be able to get, but I am sure I'll get over it. The thought of saving £60 far outweighs the loss of a programme or two!0

Hmm, I know what you mean, maybe you can find the programmes on the internet if you really like them though

Well done you. Saving £360/year. Now if you have a mobile phone look into negotiating a better deal perhaps?
Check your home and car insurances if you have a car that is.
So many people do not do these small things.0 -
So you didn't call up to cancel, you were in reality looking for a retentions deal.
No need to worry though you'll be getting a call maybe not today maybe not tomorrow, but soon...................................
You do realise that you now have Freesat from Sky, so there are a fair number of channels you can watch but not record. That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -

I've got a Freeview in the lounge and Freesat in the kitchen and it's not often that i can't find something to watch. And you can always come here and talk to us.Liverpool is one of the wonders of Britain,
What it may grow to in time, I know not what.

Thanks, I never realised it was ITV3 Poirot is on. He watches loads of detective things, all the CSIs etc too, and the old westerns and black & white films.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Old style MoneySaving boards.
