Husband incapable of budgeting, help!

    If you're cooking evening meals (I'm saying 'if' as I don't know what your routine is and don't want to make assumptions), you could make double so that he can take some into work (assuming there's a microwave he could use or he just eats it cold). I used to do this when OH and I needed packed lunches for a stretch e.g. I would make lasagna for supper but make 2 or 3 times what we needed then we would take some into work. Nicer than defrosted sandwiches (IMO) and you could still freeze it in portions and alternate with other stuff so that he doesn't get bored of eating the same thing day after day.

    Cheese freezes but if you keep it for months it dries out. Smoked salmon freezes - ASDA does smoked salmon trimmings in the Smartprice range. Butter and Mozzarella freeze too.
