  • Any time is a good time to start. I didn't have Xmas in mind when I started but soon saw it as a goal. Now I have a new goal before Xmas, to loose enough that what ever I eat and drink over the holiday, I will not go over that stone. Wish me luck.

Have reached my weight goal a full 4 weeks early - wanted to be under the stone before Xmas and laughing scales are laughing no more :T:j:T infact I laugh in the face of those scales. mwhahahaha
Great news - well done :j,
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

  • NSD yesterday and likely today. Fridge looking a little empty so will not get away with it for long. Will make soup today from tired veg lurking in back of cupboard and bottom of fridge.

Saved usual amount this month and left a little to ease next month so met November targets but know that December will fall short. Just have to accept what I cannot change and be happy in the knowledge that I am trying.

Will feel better when I can weigh myself without having to frighten the spiders in the bathroom by stripping naked (even my slippers off) to stand on the cold scales and lean to the left to stay the same weight - obviously post p**. Trying not to get obsessive but its like the MFW initial "hit" and "rush" - I must remember that I am in the marathon not the sprint. Such wise words of advice from my first pages.

Looking forward to updating my signature tomorrow.
  • Well here we are 5 days into December and I haven't touched the bank account. just as well, as there is naff all to touch.

So now I am 2lb under the NEVER AGAIN weight. I would like to drop another 2lb just to make sure that when I indulge over Xmas I'll have room to expand - but just a little. Its party city from the MF Party with GG on 21st. 22nd Dec I have the oppportunity to indulge in a glass or two at the companies expense, a day or two at work then ho ho ho Merry Xmas:beer:

I worked out how much we will pay down the mortgage for the end of the year and we miss 10k by a few hundred. I hadn't worked this out before and wonder if I would have pushed harder if I knew. I'm tempted to plunder the joint account as there is something physcological about that number. I think I'll leave it and work out the figures for next year and be a whole 12 months ahead of the game and working towards a new figure as we only started the OP'ing malarky this May. It feels a little bit like we've been playing at it so far to see how it goes and next year will be more focused. Glory be - I might even do a spreadsheet!!!!!

What a lovely day. We managed to get so much done. Trees up, only 2 x 3ft ones but pretty all the same. Garden finally looking more presentable for the winter and we took all debris straight to the tip rather than letting it rot in the garden for a few weeks. Washing out, dinner done and last job tonight is to write the last of the Xmas cards. Happy, happy, happy, joy, joy, joy.

Total spend this week £25 and that was all on petrol which should last me well until January. On the down side, a warning light has appeared in my car that says my airbags might need re-gasing or replacing. Not looking forward to finding out how much that will set me back. For now though, basking in the glory of Sunday evening at home.:)
  • Been keeping a low profile as have a stinking head cold and don't want to share my bugs with you all.

Plus side, not been out so not spent anything. Minus side, feel weary. Up now as so full of anti-cold meds that I would ping off the walls if my feet didn't feel like they were made of lead. Hope you are all keeping warm and well.
  • Morning Numpty, sorry to hear you're feeling ropey. At least all your Christmas jobs are done, so snuggle back down and get well soon.

    Best wishes Tillly x

  • Thanks Tilly, was that a late night or an early morning for you??? Just glad I've not got the throwing up bug that seems to be going around.

I have been quite industrious, taking up the curtains from the dreaded shopping trip with the FIL. Not sure when payday is this month but keeping spending to a minimum until I know what shape next month will take. We have a week off in January and are going to try and decorate something. Which room is yet to be confirmed but probably the hall landing and stairs as some of the prep has been done. Mr NKN is keen to replace the porch so we might be able to book that in as well. Choosing a front door is more difficult than you would think.
  • So today I was up bright and early even though it was still dark (not bright) and raining. Off to our supermarket I trotted merrily and having spent the national debt of a third world nation I returned with some of our xmas shopping. Yes that's right not all but a large portion of just the dinner and wine for the two Xmas days. I am glad its largely done but do feel I got sucked into the need to buy too much food just incase...... If the end of the world is tomorrow, I'll be blooming cross I went running round like a headless chicken/turkey but I wont expire hungry or thirsty

After the GG party and getting changed from my pj's we are off to London for our Xmas day out and theatre trip. Then I'm working Saturday back Monday and party on!!!!
  • :xmastree::xmassign::rudolf::xmassmileJust popped back from GGs party to wish you all a Merry Xmas now as I'm off out and around for the next few days. We got paid early this month but I'll update at the end of the month as per usual. Glad to say I had a much better month so will more than achieve my saving goal and am still tempted to up the usual OP to hit the magic 10k of the mortgage for this year but fear it will leave me short for next month. Some serious counting to be done but its too cold to take the socks off to use the toes right now. Hope you all have a lovely weekend and Xmas.
