Sorry for ranting. Feel calmer this morning. I know he doesn't mean to be mean but sometimes it gets just a little too much.
Oh dear, sounds like you could do with the advice I gave Froggy:

OK, Thunderbirds - from wiki - "The series followed the adventures of International Rescue, a secretive organisation created to help those in grave danger using technically advanced equipment and machinery launched from its hidden Tracy Island base".
The most famous rescue vehicle was Thunderbirds 2 "Heavy supersonic VTOL carrier lifting body aircraft used for the transport of major rescue equipment and vehicles"
    HERE it is in action.

OK, so now you know what I am talking about........ in the launch you'll see it picking up a pod. What you need to do is the following:
    - Pick an ideal cupboard or filing cabinet for Thunderbirds to live (in your imagination ;)). Preferably one behind where the colleague sits.
    - Whenever you see the colleague approaching you need to scramble Thunderbirds 2. Except instead of it picking up Pod 6, as it did in the clip, it picks up a large bell jar - big enough to drop over your colleague.
    - Thunderbirds 2 approaches her from behind and drops the bell jar over her. All the negativity is inside the jar with her and although you can see and hear her you cannot feel it.

OK, this is a lighthearted solution but it is based on a well known technique where you cover yourself in a protective bubble to stop other people's negativity touching you. I'm a bit claustrophobic and didn't see why I should be the one affected.

A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

  • GG you have truely lost the plot. Imaginary Thunderbirds, negativity bubbles, Christmas shopping... what are we going to do with you?!

  • Please don't suggest I picture him naked - its got dangerously close to that this week as I had to check and change his dressing on his groin :o I think I will need intense counselling after this and if the diet allowed it I'd be at the bottom of several large G&G's a la Gallygirl stuff the tonic:T

  • I gave in last night and had white rum and diet lemonade. No recriminations please. I've decided to get in the bell jar myself and as then not only can I avoid any of his negativity, I can also ignore the pitying looks from other people. When the sun shines its nice and warm in my glass bubble. When GG suggested this to someone else, I made the suggestion that I had tried out on someone but forgot that I can apply it again just as well now. Every time they say something negative turn that exact comment to a positive. If they moan about the rain say how the rain is making the grass lovely and green. Well you get the idea.

On a more MSE note. Left in peace with a cup of tea this morning, I was able to review my affairs for the month. I need to leave it another week and look again as pay next month could be quite a lot lower than the last 2 months so we'll see. I will be away for a few days and will rest and recouperate. Have a massage and enjoy the colours. :)

I hope you are warm and happy in your bubble :). The other ploy is to ask yourself 'in 5 years time will this matter?' If the answer is 'yes, cos I'll still be in prison for murder' then best get back in the bubble for a while longer ;).

Its a bit echo'y in this bell jar but is keeping a manic grin on my face. 1 more sleep :T:T:T I'm trying to get them (Mr NKN & FIL) to go to the local pub for a pint. I can't go because I'm on a diet even though I did give in on the roast potato front with dinner. Only 1 mind and a thin slither of Xmas pud and low fat custard. Right back at it tomorrow.
  • Oh what a difference a few days can make. Am feeling so much more at peace with the world. Have had a few bargains, best was the haircut for under £10 and so pleased with it. Feel like I made my time away work for me rather than having to use my days off to catch up with all my jobs.

Have just seen pay slip and I refuse to let it bring my mood down. Lowest pay this year :( but all I think now is how can I rise to the challenge. Worse month to be short as will have to leave all Xmas prep to the last week but feel certain it will only make me more creative.

Have reached my weight goal a full 4 weeks early - wanted to be under the stone before Xmas and laughing scales are laughing no more :T:j:T infact I laugh in the face of those scales. mwhahahaha

Just off to sort out whats left of this months money and see what I can keep to buffer next month. The OP is safe its the saving that might suffer but I will save something even if its pennies.

    Happy Wednesday everyone
  • Hiya, :T:T:T on the weight loss, you've up me to shame :T:T:T. I am not leaving it until January though, to start my get fit campaign, I am starting between Xmas and the New Year. That doesn't make my prevarication feel as bad :rotfl:
