How's it going today gem? I've been thinking about you. Let us know how the applications are going for your benefits and getting those extra work hours.
Also, how about advertising to do a bit of babysitting or taking in ironing? any odd jobs really to earn a bit extra while you are waiting to get a new job or more hours. Have a good look around to see what you have that could be ebay-ed, I know I had a ton of [STRIKE]old junk[/STRIKE] treasures, stashed in my cupboards and drawers ready for the [STRIKE]old junk[/STRIKE] treasure collectors on ebay
Keep posting to let everyone know how you're doing, even if you have nothing much to say, this lot here are such worriers, but we all care and want to make sure you are ok and feeling on top of things.:A

Also, well done on negotiating the lower Sky package but, are you sure you can't do without it altogether? A freeview box might help relieve the tedium of the normal 5 channels and you could pick one up for free on freecycle perhaps.
I don't think that with the level of debt on top of the domestic expenditure, snowballing is an option here. It is more likely a case of CCCS or Payplan to get payments down to a nominal amount.
Snowballing is really only relevant when there is excess over expenditure to minimise interest, it does not IMHO help the OP here get her life back under control. It is more of a priority to get the creditors to accept nominal payments, at which time interest will be frozen anyway.

Hi there Gem, and you are one you know that. You have taken so many positive steps forward. I bet before you posted yesterday, any steps looked impossble! So go you:beer:
Here are some websites, on which you can earn a bit of money or points to put towards vouchers. Sorry if it is a bit long!:D
https://www.lightspeed.com - this is a survey site, where you get points which turn into vouchers (you choose). May not help with the cash flow, but the vouchers could be saved towards birthday/xmas or given as presents.
https://www.caio.co.uk - survey site that gives money. A bit fits and starts ie no surveys for a couple of weeks, then three or four the same day.
https://www.yougov.co.uk - again paid surveys. However takes a while to get to the minimum payout level
https://www.pigsback.co.uk - this is a points site, ie they give you points for buying things via their site. BUT you also get points for signing up for news letters (some of which are even interesting!), and also for clicking on adverts with pink borders. I have spent NOTHING with them but got a £10 voucher through this week (only been registered since January). There is also a thread in the freebies section, which gives you all the daily answers to the competitions so you can have a better chance of winning on them.
https://www.mutualpoints.com - another points for clicks site. You can also buy things via their site and get points too. For a long time, I just clicked the links in the emails they send you, and that gets you 5 points. At 3000 points you get £20 I think. You can do searches via their site and that gets you points too.
https://www.quidco.com - this is a cash back site, so very good, for checking if any potential new insurers (ie if you have checked your contents insurance say and found a new provider), are offering cash back. Eg Lloyds was offering £120 cashback on new policies at one point (the offers do change). You can also get small amounts of cash again for doing searches via their site. You can earn 52p a day by doing this. Every little helps.
https://www.greasypalm.co.uk - another cash back site, where you can do searches and get small amounts of money. But it all adds up. I think you can get about 50p a day on there for nothing. Minimum payout is £20 I think, but you can sign up to survey sites via there, and get extra money that way for nothing.
The very best of luck with your journey. Someone is always here.

Big Hugs, Lots of Love and Loads of Luck are wished for you. Life has it's own dimmer switch installed, sometimes it takes a while to see clearly - but you've taken your first steps and things will look much much brighter in a few months. Taking control is sometimes a worry - but is a powerful feeling - and is definitely definitely the very best way forward.

I'd also like to thank everybody on this site and also to Martin for having the site idea to start it all off. The help on these forums has got me out of the mire on more than one occasion.
A big THANKYOU AND WELL DONE to all the kind, thoughtful and VERY helpful people that frequent this site. YOU ARE ALL WONDERFUL!! :Tsassybird0 -

3 years ago we moved into a new house, slightly higher mortgage so I told my hubby something had to go broadband or sky - broadband won and we don't miss sky at all, well we haven't exactly got rid, we still have our receiver and our dish and we get about 20 channels FREE, and its the same old story no matter how many channels you have there still isn't anything to watch.
so I say ditch the sky, go to the library borrow some books, read a book, switch of the TV and save electricity too.
Good luck with it all, I'm sure very soon you will start to feel a little lighter, I have saved so much by using this site.0
