Forgot to mention my bargain loaf for 50p yesterday which is now in the freezer. Anyhow, I'm not expecting to save anything when we get paid next week. We'd already decided to purchase a nice present for DH, something he's wanted for years and now he's going on a trip away for a few days. So actually I'm expecting we'll dip in to the savings and possibly only have about half what I like to keep in there left. Hey ho, you only live once.

Yesterday I got all my gardening jobs done. Today I'm planning to get in the gym, walk the dogs and hoover and mop through the house. Anything else will be a bonus. Should be a NSD.

A fortnight since I posted and payday has come around again. DH ended up doing just a mini trip away but his big present has been purchased. Amazingly we still have our emergency fund and a spare 91p.

The weather looks ok today, cold but dry so I am planning to mainly do gardening.

Need to check that I've got everything in for the meal plan this week. I want to go on a long walk with the dogs too today, but don't necessarily want to get any shopping.

These updates are becoming less frequent although only a week since the last one. Think I might try to post a weekly update although not a lot happens really.

MSE: water bill arrived, £2 ish less a month from April, rent statement arrived, £2 ish more a week from April. Letter from AA about renewal, I have already told them I don't have a car of my own anymore, so now I've got to phone them again. Aargh. Awaiting news of how much council tax will be. Still need final bill from NP0wer. They should owe me over £100.

This week I managed to squirrel £25 into the savings account.

Just claimed a payout from t0pcashback, I must get better at using these type of sites. I always forget.

Morning diary. Another £30 squirrelled to the savings account this week. I had the final bill from leccy, only £30 refund so I need to study the bill properly, but really can't be bothered with it yet.

Splurged this week on a takeaway when visiting DD and her BF and went out for a nice meal with DH mid week.

I'm not planning on spending a lot this weekend. I'm intending to be treated as its Mother's Day tomorrow!

I had a lovely day yesterday with DD, it was completely away from normal routine and so relaxing. Before she arrived I was out in the greenhouse at 7.30am planting seeds, and once she got here we walked the dogs, did the village shop on the way, came back and watched a film, ate lots and took the dogs for another walk.

Smashing. Looking forward to another day with her today. She is taking me to the pictures and for a KFC which is my favourite fast food.

And I have another 'Mother's Day' to look forward to on Thursday which I'll be spending with DS and his fiancee.

I had a great second Mother's day with DS and his fiancee yesterday, was thoroughly spoiled. I also treated myself to some new clothes while I was out so will be dressed to kill for my night out with DH later.

Had a hospital appointment, all looking really good, just need to keep taking the tablets.

Am having a lazy day with the dogs today. Just having lunch and will then watch a film and paint my nails at the same time.

Sorted out the finances for the month or so ahead this morning, looking ok and should be able to squirrel away some savings.

Rant time diary. I had a great night out with DH last night as the show was really good but the venue is my least favourite in the whole city. Firstly when booking tickets they slap on a premium for booking fee (how the hell else are you supposed to book the tickets?), then even if you print the tickets off yourself (using your printer, electricity, paper and ink), they charge extra for that or you have to pay for postage for them to send the tickets to you.

Then when you arrive on the night customer service is almost zero, there are not enough staff at the bar, and a plastic cup of inferior wine costs £9.70. Then you get to sit in ripped seats with not enough leg room.

Believe me, you only go when there is a show you really want to see.

Anyway, enough of that, as I say the show was good and we had a meal before too so a good start to the weekend.

We have another night out planned tonight at a small really nice and value for money venue, so looking forward to that.

Another week passes in a flash. We had our night out on Saturday, went to see a comedian. I must be getting old - too much swearing for me. The meal on Sunday was lovely.

All tainted by OldDog becoming ill on Saturday night. She's been slowing down but was obviously distressed so a visit to the vet was in order. Turns out she's got arthritis so will be on tabs for the rest of her life now. Trying to get the tabs right so we had another visit to the vet yesterday and there will be another one on Monday.

So unexpected spends of over £100 there, and I'll need to budget for her medicine each month going forward. As yet I can't see any improvement in her so the joy has gone out of dog walking as we can't go far, and we move slooooowly.

Today my day is my own so I'll be doing exciting things like cleaning the fridge and meal planning. Its a bit damp out so not sure that I'll get out in the garden. Not sure I'm in the mood for that anyway.

I hope anyone reading has a great day.

Ok so I typed up a long post and its gone so here is a summary:

Seemed a long week at the paid stuff despite only being 4 days
Another £100 spent at the vet
Another £100 put aside for next vet visit
New budget includes £100 per month for OldDogs meds
Had expensive meal out with DH and DD mid week
Have managed to save some money though and hope to squirrel away more
Transferred some savings to an ISA
Wet here today so planning just to potter and get in the greenhouse to plant seeds

And my moan of the week, my boss turned down a job offer for me from his bosses without asking me first. I don't want the job but that's not the point. His apology has been accepted. Moan over.

    Have a great Easter everyone.

Well, lost it a bit last night. DH used my am@zon account to order something and signed me up to the free prime trial. I went to order something, got some weird options, no he didn't know what that was about. Carried on, checked my email and realised what he'd done. Hoping I can cancel despite having selected next day (7th April, how is that next day even over Easter!!) or it will cost me £79. For what exactly??

    Rant over.

Looking forward to a nice day with DD and her fiance. I do wonder how much it will cost me though. I suggested a taking packed lunches but got voted down on account of the weather. They've no sense of adventure, these young ones!

    Have a great day everyone.
