Decluttering today - past their best Xmas decs. Good stuff now put away.
Forgot to mention that I picked up some 'roadkill' the other day, just a 1p, but I'm going to pick up any that I see this year.
Just having lunch, will then hoover through the house and continue making cushion covers with my old fabric.Spend less now, work less later.0 -
A long time since I posted but not much to report really. Cushion cover making and decluttering still ongoing. In danger of exceeding some budgets with a week to go to pay day, but I got an award at the paid stuff of £50 so that's good. Still waiting for them to pay out my expenses though.Spend less now, work less later.0

First job of the day - switching gas/electric supplier as my fixed tariff ends next month.Spend less now, work less later.0

Energy supplier switch in progress, should save over £200 a year and get £30 cashback. Payday this week and even though DH got paid extra for Xmas, finances not looking as rosy as I'd hoped. Now that doesn't mean we're going to struggle, just that we won't be able to save as much as I'd hoped.
One of our freezers had a bit of a failure this week so I had to dispose of some stuff and redo the menu to use other items so was annoyed at that. All good now. Just done a big online MrT shop - less than £34 so thats good. Will keep us in basics like dog food and rice for a couple of months.
Some spends planned for this week, LittleyDog is due her groom, I've prescriptions to pick up and the dogs need more fleadrops and wormer tablets.Spend less now, work less later.0 -
Feeling happier about finances now. Am saving again, having saved nothing in January and quite enjoying not spending money. And am on plan to pay off the loan this year rather than next.Spend less now, work less later.0

Underspends on last week's budgets of £94.50 so I've squirrelled it away into savings. I didn't spend all my pocket money, we didn't go out and didn't over splurge on food shopping. Must try again this coming week!Spend less now, work less later.0

Morning diary. An early start as LittleyDog can't distinguish between weekdays and weekends.
I squirrelled away another £15 to savings yesterday just because it feels good and once it's in the savings I won't touch it, so I'll just have to manage whats left in the budgets.
I have treated myself online this morning but used some of the money I got from my bonus in January.
Today will be a spend day anyway as DH and I are off to York later.Spend less now, work less later.0 -
Well where do I begin. Savings going well although I can't save anymore now till next payday. However, today has been a day of unexpected spends as OldDog had an accident on our bed. She got in there because we hadn't noticed the door handle had broken, wasn't catching properly. So we've had to buy a new duvet etc and door handle. Total £36.
Tonight she's been sick, seems ok now, but I can't help feeling that although she has days when she runs like a puppy, her time with us is limited now. She has cataracts, obviously can't hear as well as she used to and sometimes her back legs sort of give way (a trait for her breed). And of course, there are the occasional but more frequent lately accidents. Good job we have a lovely vet to keep her pain free.Spend less now, work less later.0 -
Morning diary. And what a lovely morning it is. LittleyDog slept in and I woke up in my own time at 7.30. I feel really refreshed.
No real plans for today. I have £22 for grocery shopping, need to do a freezer inventory again, hope to get out in the garden, and hope to win the lottery when I check my numbers in a moment.
I hope anyone reading has a great day.Spend less now, work less later.0 -
I'm really quite pleased with myself this morning. I've done a menu plan using mostly stuff from the freezer for the next month, cycled to do the village shop which only cost £18.09, and walked the dogs already.
I'm aiming to keep this way of planning and shopping up. It still leaves room to get some bargains, today I've bought a reduced chicken and mushroom pie for 80p, a Scotch egg for 50p which is now my lunch and some extra vegetables which I may make soup with if they don't all get used up during the week.
The bike ride was hard work though, nothing like the exercise bike which I do most days.Spend less now, work less later.1
