Nearly two weeks since I last posted. Savings haven't stayed intact although we still have the minimum amount and a little more that I don't like to drop below in case of emergency.

Thanks Stripes. LittleyDog is nearly mended - until the next outbreak that is!
Just been to village Christmas fair and spent about £10 but got something really really good. Also now have a pot of boozy mincemeat to make my own mince pies and some shortbread biscuits for later.Spend less now, work less later.0 -
Morning diary.
DH did the shopping yesterday which came to about £35; with using stuff from the freezer we have all meals planned and everything we should need until next weekend.
Today I will continue helping DD sort out her stuff ready for moving out in a couple of weeks, lots of shredding to do as I gave birth to a hoarder!
There will be the usual dog walks too if the weather is kind.Spend less now, work less later.0 -
Morning diary. Well, pay day has been and gone and budgets are done for this most expensive month of the year (if I ignore June with car insurance and every bill being due that is), but at least there is a six month spread.
I am being scrooge this year, max £50 per person for presents - my children and their partners, and my nieces only. DH and I are not buying each other presents having just got a new greenhouse and car recently.
I also won't be buying much food, we are eating out on Christmas Day and last year I was still eating calorific stuff in February. See my posts around that time - ridiculous!
Originally DH and I had big plans for today. We were going to do a big shop in home bargain, go out for a meal, and get up in the loft to bring stuff down for DD's move next week and to put stuff up there. Would have been bringing the Xmas decs down too. But DH is in pain, so this morning, I'll just pop to the local shop, we'll still have the meal out, and DD will just have to pack what she can for today.Spend less now, work less later.0 -

I've decided I'm not going in to town today to do the home bargains shop. DD said everywhere was awful yesterday because of black weekend and also, although I'm running low on some stocks, I'm not about to actually run out of everything, oh and I'm lazy.
DH is going to get meat and veg for meals for the week today so that is ok.Spend less now, work less later.0 -
Morning diary, a whole week without posting. A busy week as DD has moved out. I treated her and BF to lunch yesterday mid move in a local to them now pub and it only cost £14.15 for the three of us with drinks. Me thinks we shall be frequenting there again!
We are now only running one car between the two of us so that should reduce expenditure over the year somewhat.
I have so far since payday put £510 in the savings and will try to squirrel more away if I can, but DH and I have a pre Christmas treat planned this week which includes a night away and I expect a shopping trip! Can't wait.
Today, I shall be making the much delayed trip to home bargains. I also need to buy new wellies and get house straight now DD is not here.
Hopefully time permitting, it will be Xmas tree putting up day.
Have a great day everyone.Spend less now, work less later.0 -
Oh gosh, almost a week since posting and have been spending sooooo much:
Home bargains (£80)
Wellies £75 (don't ask, but I am expecting them to last a lifetime!)
Third freezer (£121)
More Xmas pressies (approx £100, poss more)
Specs for me and DH (£200)
Meals out as part of our couple of days away (approx £100)
So without a doubt I'm going to have to dip into the savings a little so we don't go overdrawn.
Have a great day everyone.Spend less now, work less later.0
