I had a great day out with the 'kids' yesterday and petrol aside, only spent £3.20. We had a picnic and went to a museum and when we got back they did the ice bucket challenge. HM Chinese meal was a success too.
The dogs are joining us for a day out today and the only spends should be parking.
Oh and just had an email that we won £25 on the lottery last night.Spend less now, work less later.0 -
I've had a lovely weekend. Sunday went as planned with a day out with the dogs and only parking to pay for, and a lovely roast beef dinner in the evening.
Yesterday, change of plan though. We were going to wander around a castle ruins, but it rained so in the afternoon we went to the cinema instead. I paid for tickets £35.80, they got their own snacks.
It was good, but we've agreed on rainy days in future, we'll do baking as we did when they were young!
I've also told them about the possibility of me losing my job so they don't just think I'm being tight and they may stop trying to do withdrawals from bank of mum and dad.
Today, I have the day to myself.Spend less now, work less later.0 -
A bit of a roller coaster week. Even though I had a day off on Wednesday I was a little bit down with all that's been going on and might happen and all that but was cheered up enormously by the generosity and kindness of some fellow villagers.
I went back to the paid stuff on Thursday and now have a new job starting in a couple of weeks so I no longer have to worry about redundancy.
Spends wise, all budgets looking good and I may not even need to use savings for our new greenhouse. There may be enough left in the current account this week and I should also be able to pay that darn Arg0s bill rather than leaving it to January when it's due.
Today, I am getting my haircut, an absolute must now I need to look ok for the new job and will do a meal plan then shop. I also need to pop to home bargains to stock up again following visitors last weekend and this weekend too.Spend less now, work less later.0 -
Hair is cut and came within budget, food shopping done. Have had to allow some slack in plans to have enough money for travelling in the new job, although I will get this back but probably not till early October as I'm not fully set up yet with the expense account and card.
Bank of mum and dad is open again, major changes in DS life due to ill health/job etc so a transfer has been made and a food parcel will be sent over today.
My plans for today are to go in gym, walk and bath the dogs, hoover through, and get out in the garden as it's lovely and sunny again.Spend less now, work less later.0 -
Morning diary. I haven't spent very much at all this week on normal bits and pieces. . The greenhouse arrived and I only used just over £500 of savings towards it, so still have my savings buffer that I like to keep for emergencies.
I hope my company credit card arrives soon otherwise my savings account will temporarily be £500 down.
Minimal spends today just on some fresh meat and veg. Tomorrow I have free tickets for the cinema but will then be going shopping for clothes for the new job but will try to keep to budget and just get absolute necessities.Spend less now, work less later.0 -
Well, what a busy week. Last week's clothes shopping cost £100 to update my work wardrobe so that's the clothes challenge gone to the wall then! Had a great time at the cinema etc with DS though.
My old boss has picked up the tab for my initial expenses so thats all good, and I'm back home after having to work in London. Still not entirely sure what my new role entails but am sure I'll find out this week.
Haven't spent much at all which has to be good.Spend less now, work less later.0 -
So a week away training and I have a better idea of what my new job entails, just have to get it done now. I didn't spend much this week, actually nothing but have come home to find out that DD left the freezer door open and DH had to throw away about £100 worth of food. Also the family had eaten takeaways and ready meals so quite a bit of spend there.
Anyway, onwards and upwards, need to get stocked back up on food today and need a colour ink for the printer, also some cards as I won't have time to make them.
Right, better get a move on.Spend less now, work less later.0 -
I've had a quiet couple of day spendwise as until today I didn't go anywhere. My afternoon out today with future DiL has been postponed, but I still managed to spend £90 (all budgetted for thank goodness) on dog booster, grooming and petrol.
The car is going in for a service tomorrow. If it comes to over £180 I will need to raid the savings, but I still need to claim about £200 in expenses. ....which I must sort out tomorrow when I'm back at the paid stuff.Spend less now, work less later.0 -
Hello diary. Well the car service was interim only and came in at £75 and DD covered that as she also uses the car a lot so that worked out ok.
Finances looking ok just as we enter the last week before payday, but I have ordered a new phone at just over £50. Apparently you can block out unwanted calls easily so should be a great time and temper saver.
I have submitted my expense claim so that's nearly £300 due this week along with both wages, but the dates get released for our holiday choice on Monday and I want to book it straight away so we don't lose the week we want, so will have to raid savings for that and then put everything right when we get paid.
Its a lovely sunny day here so my morning will be taken up with a nice long dog walk. Right, first cuppa finished, so I'm going to clean the fridge and meal plan for the week - will mainly be stuff already in the freezers.Spend less now, work less later.0 -
Hello again diary. First of two paydays this week is today. Budget for the month ahead looking ok again and despite paying out for next year's holiday yesterday, we should be able to recover our savings again. We need to as we're going to have to purchase a car some time in the next 3 months.
The new phone has arrived and not one call. I think I may need to check the volume and read the instructions carefully.
My expenses should hit our account tomorrow and another payday beckons on Thursday.Spend less now, work less later.0
