Morning diary. Another NSD to report so 2/4. Today won't be though as I've asked DH to get cheese and apple juice on his way home. Not bad for a weekly shop and the reason I'm not getting them myself? It's pouring with rain which is a shame as it's Tour de France here in Yorkshire this weekend. As the roads near us will be busy, I was only going to watch it on TV anyway, so my basic plan for the day hasn't changed, but goodness knows when the dogs will get a walk.

I should take some time out to phone the new bank to check that the switch is actually going to happen this coming week. I've not had the correspondence I had with the other recent switch so I'm getting a bit twitchy about it. It's all in the timing after all as pay day is next Thursday.

I hope anyone reading has a great day.

Morning diary. No other NSDs to report I'm afraid but DH did get some great YS stuff yesterday including a huge joint of beef for less than £6 which will do us for 3 roast dinners and leftovers.

Well, a day ahead of payday, I've just been sorting out the finances for the month ahead. Actually the budget is much tighter than I'd like but this is because we're going on holiday. I think it might be difficult not to touch the savings, but we'll see how we go.

Think I need to stop DH popping to the local shop and plan menus solely from what's already in the freezers.

Morning diary. In MSE news, the bank that likes to give you extra, you know the one promoting how easy it is to use their switching service, will be given the heave-ho today. I can't believe how difficult they make it for new customers and certainly don't want to start banking with them now.
So back to the drawing board for where to move our second current account.

And in other MSE news, have just got first payout of £15 from Quidco but will have to wait a few days for it to hit the bank account.

A NSD for me yesterday as I made DHs birthday card. Not a NSD for DH though. So for me 3/10. Also had a £5 win on Weds thunderball.

Today will be big spending as we're out for a family meal tonight and we're paying.

Last night definitely was big spending but we had a lovely family meal out. We were in the restaurant for three hours and laughed a lot. Worth every penny but think we will reserve these treats for big events in future.

Today we are buying bread and going to the village fair (with only £20 max) so hopefully a low spend day. We actually have a weekend together so will do fun things like dog walking, bike ride and stuff, but no flying (housework) or DIY.

I hope anyone reading also has a low spend fun weekend.

A good day yesterday, spent less than £7 at the school fair and came away with a book that has sentimental meaning to me and some handwash! And today, we didn't go out as planned so didn't splurge.

DH won a footie bet but has spent it on a treat for himself and has a bet on the WC final tonight.

Back to paid stuff tomorrow, need to get fridge emptied this week ahead of hols. Must remember to cancel the milk.

So DH won his bet and spent it. I got a Mr T delivery today as they sent through a £20 off £60 voucher. In total I got my shopping for £19.80 less than it would have cost me to go to the shop even with delivery and thanks to their replacement policy. Win win.

We're back from our holiday. It was the best holiday I've ever had, I feel totally chilled out. Today is the last day of our time off the paid stuff together and we're off to a concert later so will be a lovely finish.

And we're just about managing to keep to budget.
