The concert last night was fantastic and on the way home we stopped at our favourite pub for a meal to finish the holiday.
I've now got all our banking up to date, the shopping is done for the week, probably for the next two weeks until pay day, and I've done inventories of the contents of both freezers. In fact to save opening the doors in this hot weather, I've put the lists on the actual doors.
Back to normal weekend routine then today. I'm planning to get in the gym before it gets too hot, shower, then hoover and mop through the house. I then need to get out in the garden, the grass is so long after being left for a week, and I need to harvest the potatoes and turnips and do some weeding. So a busy day ahead.
I hope anyone reading has a great day.Spend less now, work less later.0 -
Hello diary. Finances are looking pretty healthy, better than expected and I have saved enough for my greenhouse so that is now on order.
Paid stuff is horrendous, so a euromillions ticket for tonight has been purchased.
Its the weekend again and DH is home so I'm really looking forward to it.
I hope anyone reading has a good weekend too.Spend less now, work less later.0 -
Ok, so I didn't win the euromillions but I have won tickets to the proms in a couple of weeks so there is something to look forward to. I shall take a posh picnic and my best folding chairs (my only folding chairs).
Today we decided to do a big shop ahead of pay day but finances still ok and DH wants a day out tomorrow but we'll use our EH cards.Spend less now, work less later.0 -
Its two days to pay day, and now my day out tomorrow has been postponed, I do actually stand a chance of keeping to my original budget for this month. I just need the car to pass its MOT with no problems at the weekend.Spend less now, work less later.0

I emptied my penny pot yesterday, mostly as I needed some money for a prescription. I took out £9 for the meds, sorted out £10 into money bags to be changed up and there is still £14 in there. Amazing how the pennies add up after a few months. At least I'll know I can pay the window cleaner.
Today I have decided to still take the day off work even though I'm not going out now. The weather is damp, so I think I will just potter about. My tummy doesn't feel quite right either, maybe its the antibiotics.

Payday and I've sorted out the budgets. As long as the car passes it's MOT on Saturday, we'll be ok. If not, then I will need to restrict the entertainment budget and possibly my personal spends.
Entertainment wise DH will be mostly too busy at the paid stuff to be able to do much, and so far we have a night at the cinema planned (free tickets) and a night at the proms (competition win) so all good there.
With respect to my personal spends, I desperately need a hair cut and I'm planning a trip to York with DD on Sunday so I'll pop in b00ts and get some clear nail polish as I've run out. Will check out vouchers first and try to make this my only spends.
My diary is two years old this weekend and I achieved my original plan of bringing forward the debt free day. Still need to work on getting more NSDs though!Spend less now, work less later.0 -
Today I've done the village shop stocking up on fresh bits for the week. I spent £26.04 but this includes a big bag of compost so I'm pleased with that.
Just waiting now to hear if the car has passed it's MOT. Fingers crossed it has.Spend less now, work less later.0 -
So the car passed its MOT, had a few little irritations sorted out on it and came in £22 over budget. £10 I've taken from the entertainment budget and £12 less spent on lottery tickets this month. So all good again.
Off out shopping with DD today even though it is pouring down. I am only planning to buy clear nail polish (may even see if I have enough points to pay for it) but I have agreed to go halves on lunch because its not picnic weather.Spend less now, work less later.0 -
Day out with DD abandoned on route due to the appalling weather. So I've picked up a paper to read to have a lazy low spend day.Spend less now, work less later.0

I ended up ordering the nail polish on line when DD ordered all her cosmetics. I think with the savings on petrol/parking/lunch, I've come out on top today and I got the points for the whole order.
Its been a really lazy day as DH made dinner. Just finishing off catching up on here and will then settle down and watch the village.Spend less now, work less later.0
