It is now past midday and I am not dressed which is unheard of for me. So far today I have sorted out some charity stuff, emptied the bins, been in the gym for 15 minutes and had a soak in the bath.

I have also had a big English breakfast which has totally wiped out the efforts in the gym. I need to lose at least 2 stone so there's something else to focus on from this week.

In MSE news, DH has been going mad on eBay (but with his own allowance) and I am hoping for a NSD today.

Right, must wash up, get dressed and walk the dogs.

Quick update: two NSD's in a row and bank of mum and dad have decided to write off what DD and DS owe us.

Diet going badly - anyone else still finishing treats from Christmas?

Finishing of treats from Christmas at the end of February???? That shows some self restraint! Mine went in December :o

My dieting is not going well either, two stone for me too:( I could try and motivate you if you like?

Brilliant idea, Piq. I think we just bought too much. There are still 3 boxes of fruit slices (cake), two boxes of shortbread, two boxes of mince pies etc........
Promise to have an apple for my break this morning!

You can freeze the mince pies individually and then when you have to have one you can one rather than two;)

Tempted to say chuck the sweets or give them away, if you know you are going to eat them eventually. You'd pay £3 to lose a pound, that £3 you spent on fruit slices is going to cost you a pound.

I've had porridge for breakfast, now I'm wondering what to have for second breakfast.....

HM granola for breakfast (I don't like porridge straight so use oats for granola and other things) and tucking into a russet right now. It's a good idea to freeze the cakes. They have good dates on them, but I'll still do that after I have defrosted one of my freezers. I am also still eating pretty much out of the freezers since Christmas. We had the last of the hm turkey & gammon filo pies at the weekend.

    There really is no hope!

Another week or so has passed since I last posted. All the Xmas treats have now gone, some sweets with long dates put away for Halloween treats for trick or treaters, some Xmas cake given away, some of the mince pies thrown away and the rest eaten. So no excuse now for not dieting/eating properly. I have been in the gym once this week and weight is down by 3lbs.

Money wise pay day has been and gone and I am still surprised by how much surplus there is each month after years of robbing Peter to pay Paul. It will take some getting used to. I used it this month to pay off our overdraft. It was an amount that was being used every month because there was no charge, but now it is gone, and the overdraft is there for what it was intended - an emergency.

Gas & electric DD has been reduced so that will go some way to covering the rent increase due in April. I'm not sure yet whether our council tax will go up or if it will stay the same again.

Anyway, I've also cashed in some shares this week to use to buy some new doors & to stash in the ISA, and come next week, I'll start to squirrel away some extra savings again.

Only four payments to debt free day.

Had a great night out with DH last night. Spent about £15 on refreshments which is about the norm for that kind of venue. I don't think twice about taking my own food/drink to the cinema but have never done so at a theatre. Maybe time for a rethink.

This morning, we've done the village shop but as I'm still trying to empty one of the freezers to defrost it, we only needed to get some fresh veg and bread.

The rest of the day, I am going to spend gardening and another dog walk.

I hope anyone reading is enjoying their weekend too.

A low spend weekend except that I broke the hoover so have had to order another one. I did however source one reduced from £180 to £74. There is no way I can manage even in the short time without one because of the dog hairs.

Another 1lb lost weightwise but haven't been back in the gym yet. I think gardening over the weekend in the unseasonably warm weather was enough exercise.

Why is it that as soon as I get some surplus money things come along to take it? So I sold some shares last week and the bank balance was looking lovely. I paid into my Xmas savings, and popped some into the ISA. I paid off a bill earlier than I needed to and thought I might pay the balance on my holiday.

The only other thing planned was new interior doors which I got the quote for today, but may now have to put off for a while BECAUSE THE CAR HAS BROKEN DOWN.

So two things in two days. First the hoover, now the car. I really hope these events don't come in threes.

So all other plans for the money on hold until I find out how much the car will cost to repair.

And it's time for an early night.
