Just £10.89 spent on food in the last couple of days. DH and I had a lovely meal last night all from reduced items, many of which are still in the fridge and freezer. BUT I forgot to put the food I cook specially for the dogs in the fridge last night so have had to throw that out this morning.

More vet expense yesterday for LittleyDog. They even charge for second consultations now.

    Planned expense this week:

    Food
Meal out with family later in week (each couple paying for themselves and we will be using tastecards).
    Lottery
New TV remote if I win it on land of bay.

Lots of spending today as DH wanted to go to the range so I decided to use the opportunity to get some things I needed. Have also bought some tickets to see a band.

Well finances not looking too bad after all for the month ahead. After paying for our anniversary treat this year, I still have about £450 in savings. And I have my first competition win of the year, some theatre tickets, so something else to look forward to in April.

Can't say the same for DD's finances, she really needs to get a full time job not on minimum wage, so bank of mum and dad will be paying for meal out tonight.

A little while since I last updated. Savings are actually £401 exactly and I'm hoping not to dip into them. Am currently keeping to grocery budget and everything else on track too including £140 (!!) for car tax this month. DH's car is only £30.

Anyway, obviously with it being a tight month, I've not been squirrelling savings away, but I did put my £14 into the saving for Xmas challenge this week.

Had a busy week as spent most of it in big bad London where it costs £4.95 for a sausage roll and bottle of water.

Glad to be back home and planning a low spend weekend with my dogs.

I hope anyone reading has a good low spend day too.

I just got a couple of free cinema tickets for Monday - thanks MSE. Have sent the link to DD, she is off work next week with not a lot of money and has not had the best week ever. She didn't get the promotion, didn't get the other job she went for and didn't get the place she wanted at uni.

It is difficult to know what to say.

I am officially an awful mother. Bank of mum and dad has been requested to step in again (which I was expecting given last months events) but I am not going to transfer the money in one lump, they can have it in installments. Maybe they will even decide they don't actually need quite so much as the month goes on.

I am doing this as I don't want to jeopardize my own savings or my own budget this month which is already tight.

A great NSD day for me yesterday in which I was taken out to lunch for early Valentine's treat by DH (who else!) and the whole family went to the cinema to see 'The Book Thief' courtesy of free tickets via MSE.

Things seem to be on track even if they're tight. But you're sticking to it and that's the important thing.

I read the Book Thief and enjoyed it, was the film any good?

Piquant, I haven't read the book but the film was great. I really enjoyed it and would recommend it.

Well, eleven busy days since I've posted and being MSE has kind of been forgotten. I can't quite recall how many times we've eaten out this week, there have been no NSDs but on a positive note I've had a lovely time with DH and the dogs have new collars.

    Negatives this week:

    Being spendy
    Doing no housework

    Positives this week:

    Being spendy
    Doing no housework

So a balanced week really and back to normal routine and MSE ways next week.
