  • missmucksmum Well done to you and your husband and the best of luck to him.

Small spend today on rolls, chutney and ham for sandwiches to take on the plane and also got milk for breakfast and a YS mince pie for the freezer. OH bought some wraps to have for dinner and a bottle of coke. Savers wraps which is very frugal of him :D Can't remember offhand how much we spent but it's in my spreadsheet so will update when we get back next Thursday.

Hope everyone has a cheap and thrifty week and look forward to catching up with the thread after my holiday!!

Why did I not listen before when people talked about Aldi?! Thanks to this challenge I have discovered that it is possible to feed the five of us for less and NOT want to cry at the shopping bill :D

Barring unforseen emergencies I think we will manage this challenge for the month...:j

    Hi
I had an online shop on Monday, but with intermittent broadband, I couldn't post. Although my sig is up to date. We will need milk but we are well stocked, albeit very close to budget already.

No major shop in the calendar until October, so there is still a chance. My budget was lower this month due to holiday, so will put it back up I think.

Best wishes to all struggling with their demons x

You daren't skim read too much in case you miss anything. ;)

It's been good for my grocery challenge though. I know I come way under each week but I give up trying to see by how much.

Even the little extra spends are funded by wombled receipts:j

    See you over 'there'

  • Hi folks - just wondering what you all serve with toad in the hole? I think I'm gonna make that tonight to use up my batter from last night but I only have 8 sausages between 4 of us which will make a fairly small toad in the hole... I normally just serve veg with but I think I need something else particularly for OH as the sausages are veggie ones and so 'not a proper dinner'!!!! :wall: The kids will be fine with 2 sausages but what can I give OH? Is it weird to serve potatoes or chips when it already has batter?

If you cut your sausages in half length ways it looks a lot more and makes a bigger toad, I also love mashed potato with mine.
