Evening everyone,
£6 spend in MrC today on 2 x meal deals for DD and her friend who survived the 4 hour ordeal of the 11+. In answer to your question SaveDosh it does still exist here in Kent, but living just 2 miles into a London Borough we are classed as 'out of area', so instead of the children sitting it during the week at school, over several days, they have to travel to another school, on the weekend for an 8.10am start and do all four tests, one after the other (do I sound bitter and twisted? - you bet!).
Anyhoo, in other (kinda) GC-related news, my second purse profits have today purchased me my luxury item - a candy apple red K!tchenA!d -:D:D:D:D

Well I went shopping yesterday just for a few bits and ended up spending $275 out of my $500 monthly budget:eek: this did include approx $75 worth of things that ive put away for christmas as im feeding 10 this year and there were some items with long sell by dates on offer. But even so this will really make us have to tighten our belts now for the rest of the month. Luckily i wont need to buy anymore cleaning products or toiletories and we have a fairly well stocked freezer.
Just need to menu plan for the week ahead and stick to it now!!

So seeings as I'm over my target I've decided to see if I can stick to my normal budget of £200 (it was lower this month as I had lots of extra things to pay for).
Still a bit disappointed but maybe I was a bit ambitious, having rarely stuck to my normal budget let alone a smaller one. Will see how I go next month and once I've got that under control maybe then I can start bringing it down.
BTW does anyone know if Lidl has a refund policy about returning food? I bought some plums and they are yuck. I don't want them to sit in the fridge as I'd rather get my money back and buy them from somewhere else. I've looked on the site and can only find satisfaction refund info about non-food. If anyone knows that would be fab.
Congratulations Coxy on your lovely purchase!! :T I'm sure you can make your daughter something lovely with your new toy to help get her over the trauma of having to do all 4 parts of the 11+ tests in a row!!:DSaving for Disney again, oops why book one Disney holiday when you can book two!:starmod: Emergency Fund Savings - #148 - £10/£1000 1% :starmod::xmastree:#083 SPC6 £63 - SPC7 £90 - SPC8 £63 - SPC9 £54 - SPC10 £26 - SPC12 £70 :xmastree:0 -
robberbutton wrote: »How do people work out their budgets for the months with 5 weekly shops in between paydays? This month I should have allowed £409, and others it will be £340. Sorry if there's an obvious answer but can't quite get my head around it!
This is a current dilemma of mine. If you use a budgeting tool, it will average spends out to a figure of 4.5 weeks but in a 5 week month, this just gets confusing as I end up spending more than that. I've decided to try something from next month - each month I'm going to put all my food money into a separate a/c, enough for 5 weeks. When it's a 5 week month, I'll have enough and when it's a 4 week month, I won't need that much. When the extra builds up a bit, I'm going to use it to help towards my debt payments.
I'm hoping this will help me budget better because everything just seems to go to pot during 5 week months and we can't seem to afford everything we need!minicooper272 wrote: »Hey, I've seen a few other's posting this in there signature bar, I've finally decided to have a look-see to try and understand how it works (not how I thought at least!).
My money disappears atm, and the only thing I can think of that I buy is food, so I want to try and budget how much I spend. I would like to try £100 next month, so with half a month left, I'll say £50 for the rest of the month if that's alright?
P.S. Thanks Rosieben if you're on here for pointing me to the latest thread!!

It's a bit hard to explain simply as it does take hours to get yor head round.
The best thing is for me to give you a sample shopping list to buy in Asda.
Mysupermarket glitches though as it takes the cheapest item (smartprice hair gel 15p) and it takes off a third (making it 10p) and charges this for the remaining 2 items.
Asda Price Guarantee thinks that the 3 hair products would cost you 30p from Tesco so they refund you the difference with an extra 10%.
Hope this helps
Sorry if I'm being thick here - do you buy from Azdos via the mysupermarket site or in Azdos? (other than that I think I've got it...:o)she_who_can_not_cook wrote: »i too did not get it until you explained thank you
