Just a couple of whoopsie spends this evening.

    30p on bread in Sainsbugs
35p in Waitrose on some scrummy treats.

Need to make sandwiches for DH and 2 others tomorrow, men so I don't think I'll be able to get away with a cheese sarni!! Hopefully I can pick up some 79p Sausages from Lidl and some mushrooms for 50p and make a half decent sandwich for them using my 30p bread lol!!

Need to work through the meal plan to see if I can adjust any meals to make them cheaper for damage limitation until the end of the month!
Saving for Disney again, oops why book one Disney holiday when you can book two!

Yesterday was heading for a NSD and then I had a choccy craving - so 65p for a yummy Double Decker.

Today a fairly big top-up shop of £10.84 or hubby will be complaining about running out of "essentials" again. Now at £133.47/£200.

Doing so poorly this month, spent more but still don't seem to be out of everything. Don't know if I can pull it back at this mid-way point.

    Good morning,

went to mrM last night and spent £95.71 . Only about £45 left for the month but gonna try really hard to come in under budget even if we eat lots of eggs (have chickens so they're free).

Our friday night family trips to mrM has run its course now and so am going to go myself when kids/dh at school.

On the positive side i did get a jar of pepperdew peppers for £2.99 and some value cream cheese and chives so going to try and make my own today :D

Have a good day all, we are off to the library as my kids did the summer reading challenge and they get a certificate today.

Part of the Furniture 1,000 Posts I've been Money Tipped!
Decided to have a really lazy, an cheap week. I bought a nice pork hock in butchers and a bag of frozen casserole veg in iceland, added some sprouting potatoes a handfull of frozen peas. Total 2.50

This has made a huge pot of stew which should last me a week,

Got myself a food dehydrator at long last and am on the lookout for reduced veg to dry, so far got mushrooms, onions and carrots which have been a success, banannas sadly have defeated me, I think I cut them to thick and the resulting black squidgy lumps have gone out for the birds, dont think they are too impressed either.

On the other hand lemons I found for 5p each have dried beautifully,
so nice crisp yellow slices for christmas decorations.

  • A little £3 at the fruit and veg market this morning.

I also realised we're half way through the month today but I'm not half way through the budget... I might come in under budget!!!

£20.62 spend at Aldi yesterday, more than I wanted to spend so am not very impressed with myself, but did get quite a bit for packed lunches and the kids were pleased to see mini choc lollies appear in the freezer. Our Aldi is new and I haven't yet worked out what time they do their reductions, it seems to vary unfortunately. Did get a chicken for dinner today with 30% off at least.
Obviously I didn't actually NEED a chicken, having a freezer full of stuff already. Need to work on this big time!
  • Todays Spends (to last a week and a half-ish)

    2nd Purse £14.20

Also got beans from L8dl but dont count these until I pay 2nd purse back- hope everyone is doing better tahns me as this month im a total write off!!!!

  • Anyone shop in Iceland? What are they good for?
    1% at a time no. 40. £8000 (For dream family holiday) 94/100
    MFW 2013 no. 62 £10,000/£10,000
    MFW 2014 no 62 £8000/£7000
  • This grocery thing is REALLY hard to keep track of. Some of it's cash, some credit card, some Clubcard plus, some I get, some DH gets... Whoops!

I think we're at around £284/£334 for the month so far, but might be more as I can't log on to the bcard statement at the moment

Not too bad, and am really pleased that with meal planning weekly shops have been under £60. Have also discovered that I can transfer money from my bank to CC+ right at the last minute, so I can top up the exact amount and don't have to guess.

Only problem is we've got to get two more weekly shops out of this month's paycheck/budget - just unfortunate that it's been a 5 week month like that, otherwise would be almost in budget! Will have to allow for that next time.
