Ok I am doing absolutely rubbish. I only have £79.70 left of my budget for the rest of the month!!! I need to stay out of the sm thats the only thing I can do. I go in with my teeny tiny top up list and then find bargains and for some reason think there will never be any bargains again so I have to buy them. One good thing is we will definately not starve soon, cupboards and freezer stuffed full, I even have stuff sitting in boxes because I dont have space to put it away. I think i may have a serious shopping problem but on the bright side at least its food and not designer shoeskonMarie and fabbing all the way

Hi All
So far Ive spent £92.08, am rather pleased, and no ones moaning!!! am off 2day so am doing batch cooking and baking for frezzer, I have found that this really helps us, working fulltime, its really easy to pop in to the sm on the way home for somthing 'instant' and expensive for dinner. So im sticking with my plan this month, am finding lots of really good ideas and tips on this thread,
Thanks

I am going to have a go on Saturday morning but use one-third brown flour to two-thirds white flour because of the effect that white flour has on uric acid levels.
Hope everyone quells the urge to splurge.
Hi In_it_.. I use whole strong white Becheldre Watermill and mix that with their strong wholemeal and it is excellent. As a fully paid up member of the Suffolk Siege Society(my personal stores obsession) I currently have over 50kg of flour but you could buy a 1.5k bag from Waitflower in their artisan flour area if you wanted to try it (or Amazing sell 4x1.5k bags) - with your reductions in acid foods it is worth trying a few flours to be sure you've got the best. I thought your use of lemon-thyme was a good idea to retain the lemon flavour without the citric acid of citrus juice but I saw you had this too - doesn't citrus fruit affect the gout?
Have you looked at some super-foods for counteracting the gout? I think cherries and celery (and celery seeds) are folk remedies for reducing uric acid.

Morning
I have just filled a draw of my freezers back up already. 4x £6 each large chickens for just £10. :j
Today I have pulled out mince, I will make a chilli for tea. Now do I add a tin of the 5 beans as an experiment? Hmm, choices.
Lunch is home made cheese cob bread with ham and pickles.
No more food shopping today but I am shopping to see what I can get for 10p from superdrug. I am busy putting together a hamper of beauty products for my daughter for xmas. So far I have spent -£1.78 on it and it has over £20 of products in.
I hope everyone has a lovely day.:)
I'm off to catch up on the thread and update my spends. x£36/£240

Having my sister and her boyfriend round for pizza night so treating ourselves to the 'create your own' ones from asda. But have a APG voucher for £3.17 so that'll help minimise damage! Just need to be tunnell-visioned and not see any amazing offers!! Going proper shopping on Sunday so need to keep today low! Find its really helping me knowing I have to go and post my spends. Makes me think twice about what I am buying. OH got bag of tomatoes from in laws garden yesterday so going to be making bolognese sauces etc till they are coming out of our ears!! (I dont like fresh tomatoes!)0

Just got home from a quick Mr T top-up.
Pleased with the deal I got on loo roll. I had a 50p off voucher for a 4-pack of Velvet (I only buy 4-packs, because it's only me in the house, and there's nowhere to store bigger packs). I compared the cost including the voucher with the cost of Tescos own, and because Velvet were also on special offer in-store, I got them about 70p cheaper than Tesco's own!
Have updated siggy.Because it's fun to have money!

Thank you for that, I think it will be worth going back then.
My total is now £111.90 having been to Mr T and L!dl this morning. Stocked up on Douwe Egberts coffee in Mr T which is half price, and also got a couple of Lynx shower gels for OH in L1dl as these were only 99p each. I've got everything I need for next week's meals so fingers crossed I shouldn't have to go into a supermarket til next thus. Famous last words eh?..... x0
