  • By all means everyone should speak with their bank's fraud department after you have filed a crime report
  • I have just reported this company to the police, who are treating Kitchen Arts 'business' as fraud. After lots and lots of deliberation I bought a food processor from them. The price was temptingly low, the website was very professional, the feedback from their staff was prompt and very polite but the fact that they only accepted bank transfers was causing me concern. However, I stupidly went ahead and made my purchase and now feel like a total fool. The product hasn't arrived and conveniently their website is now down and my emails are bouncing back as 'undelivered'. I did a Google search for Kitchen Arts before making my purchase, and found nothing untoward. Today when I did a Google search for Kitchen Arts, I found this forum - I have no idea why it's now suddenly turned up at the top of the list, but all I can say is I wish I'd found it sooner. Please, please don't buy from these people. It's most definitely a SCAM!
  • I stupidly ordered from Kitchen Arts last week.
Alarm bells rang when their only payment method was a direct bank transfer, but I just assumed they were a small company etc etc.
So I still ordered an espresso coffee pot. Thankfully only £15.99.
I have reported it to my bank and at Action Fraud.
Their website is down and emails bounce back as undelivered.
They still come up on google shopping searches but as their website is down you cannot order from them.
At least no-one else can be duped at the moment.
I don't know whether my bank will refund me as it was a direct payment so I am not protected by PayPal etc.
    Lesson learned.
  • Thanks gas211. That's exactly what happened to me.
I have only just found all these posts after I had ordered from them.
But I do feel like a fool.
  • I got caught too for £89.99 for a Microwave I didn't receive. I have sent my crime ref no to Bob/Wham and will pursue with my own bank too. One point - if anyone set up an account with Kitchen Arts using a password that is used elsewhere for more secure accounts - particularly the bank account that was used to send payment, it may be worth thinking about changing those passwords so they can't be used fraudulently now!

A quick update on their use of the 'thefind' and 'upfront' logos on their site. I reported kitchenarts to the find who replied yesterday to say...

"Thank you for reaching out to us. Your feedback helps us improve our search results and site, and we appreciate the time you took to write to us.

We have filed this complaint with our internal team for the merchant and will review accordingly.

Thank you again for submitting your feedback"
  • I too have been stupid and was caught for £159 only last week!!! I am so annoyed with myself. I wish I had seen these posts before or just purchased my hoover in John Lewis like I was going too!!!

I have reported this to HSBC and action fraud but am being told as I willing payed for the item by bank transfer, its highly unlikely I will see this money again.

    I feel such a fool.
  • Please could everyone a victim of potential fraud by Kitchen Arts:

    1. file a report with actionfraud.police.uk and you will receive a crime reference number. This means the police are aware and will slowly investigate.

    2. email me at: kitchenartsfraud@gmail.com

Let me know your crime reference number - thanks.
You do not need to tell me any personal information, the crime reference number is private and confidential but will contain all the necessary information. Only the police can view the information contained within.

I will collate all and send to the Police again, HSBC fraud department - their bank and if necessary a solicitor specialising in consumer fraud.

DO NOT DO NOTHING, WAITING IN HOPE FOR YOUR GOODS OR A REFUND - if they are legit, neither the Police or HSBC will harm their business AND YOUR GOODS WILL ARRIVE but if they are criminals then the quicker the police and HSBC take action the quicker they will be apprehended and prevented from inflicting their crime of others.

    thanks

    bob.

So far about 50 people have emailed so I am sure it is having traction with both HSBC fraud and the police - I will continue to pursue and let you all know.

A couple of people have asked me in email why i'm doing this and it is simple - it really isn't that time consuming and it may help to catch these crooks and already it has caused the website to stop functioning which at least prevents a continuing fraud.
  • Yes, another one. £91.98 inc delivery.

Ive reported it now and have passed on the details.

  • Like so many others I fell for this scam. The website looked professional hell, it looked like they have a physical store in London) and the 'reviews' of previous users were good. And of course, I was tempted by the bargain prices. So, embarrassingly, the alarm bells didn't go off when the only payment method offered was a direct bank transfer!! I even received an email from 'customer support' saying that the item will be dispatched ASAP.

This was 10 days ago and of course I have not received anything. Trying to contact the seller via email resulted in no response and when I went to the website to find a phone number I realised that the site was shut down. Then I saw this forum - unfortunately too late!

Those of you who have paid by PayPal are very lucky (and clearly, smarter than me) as you are able to recover the money. Unfortunately, this is not possible if you have paid by bank transfer. My bank told me, that they can't do anything as I have 'authorised' the payment by making a transfer myself (rather than the vendor taking money out of my account). How clever of the scammers!

My bank has advised me to report this fraud to the police, so if you haven't done so already, please go to actionfraud.police.uk and submit your fraud claim.
