Funnily enough I find consecutive days easier!
Anyhow for those of us tempted to 'snack' - especially in front of the TV, here are some low calorie ideas. I can vouch for the frozen mango :)

  • Hi
Been doing this on/off since the programme (August?) but just lurking on the thread thought I should start posting to get me back on track. Lost 6lbs the first month then got sick and demotivated so no loss in Sept. Started feeling I couldn't do the fasting as life was in the way. Back on it now and this week lost 1lb. Will be happy if I can consistantly loose 1 a week. 2 would be better.
    WL 11 st 5lb as at 050109. 160209 11st 2lb
    11st 5lb as at 20.04.09 11st 7lbs 040509 11st6 010609 I wish 2016 175 lbs.

I've been doing this for a while and was getting disheartened as stuck on the same weight for 4 weeks. Then suddenly this week I have dropped 2lbs 5oz. Cannot understand it but it has motivated me. Also, I seem to have lost my cravings and my chocolate addiction.

I don't get hungry any more when I fast. I usually eat in the evening on fast days and its usually a small piece of meat or fish and some salad, probably around 300 calories.

I actually feel less hungry on fasting days. Or, it's easier to ignore hunger... I tend to only eat a late lunch/tea (around 3-4 pm).

On non-fasting days I think about food (meal planning, shopping, etc.) and I find my tummy rumbling much more often!

  • I read about this diet in the latest womens mag, I have ordered the book from Amazon and I'm going start this diet tomorrow. I have read some interesting fasting day idea's on tinnedtomatoes.com and lavender and loveage do some filling recepie ideas as well. I have 2 stone I want to lose before christmas and figure if I have my fasting days on my 2 busy days of the week I won't have time to miss eating! Has anyone who has Ibs or u collitus tried this diet? How did it effect your symtons???
    HOW MUCH ?

I thought 600 calories on the 5:2 was for men and it was 500 for women?
Oops yes - I must have been having a mental blip! :rotfl:
