    Hey everyone,

    Gwen80 - hope you're feeling better today ?
I haven't felt dizzy but I did feel extremely tired on my first couple of fast days so... I had very early nights !

Just done my first weigh in and I've lost 2lbs which is great.

Bizarrely, I seem to have already lost an inch from my waist and 1/2 an inch from my hips  I'm not convinced that's true though, so I'll assume my initial measurements were out !

Hi Arrietty (trying to figure out who you are/were from DFW...I have an idea...)

Yes, feeling better today. I seriously suspect that the dizziness wasn't helped by TOTM. I'm off for acupuncture this afternoon though, so hoping that'll help. I had early nights too - partly to cope with the feeling of wanting to snack after my meal.

2lbs - well done! That's great :) The measurements may be feasible, you have lost 2lbs, so it has to have come from somewhere. Are you 5:2ing again this week?

Oh I was looking for this and lost my post!!
Oh well. Gwen, here us about feeling shaky.

I eat completely normally on non fast days, just watching myself not to compensate but am finding it I am not compensating because suddenly I don't need such a big portions. Always promise myself on a fast day to have that Magnum ice cream I have in the freezer but so far I didn't actually want it on non fast day!!

I've lost 2 lb in 2 weeks and OH lost 8,5lb (it is easier for men and he did have more to loose. He also suddenly realises calorie content of his habits and limited his snacking...).

I didn't measure before starting the diet, but I can tell on my pants that the 2lb I lost went mainly from my tummy... can also see it in the mirror.

How many calories can chicken soup made of 500gr skinless (to lessen fat content) chicken drumsticks made with 1 parsnip and 2 carrots (onion and bay leave and pepper discarded, meat in but it wasn't much once removed from the bone)? Just to know how much noodles I can add if any. Made 4x400ml out of it.
    Thank you

i have been doing 5:2 for a few weeks and I do still get they dizzyness and spaced out feeling, thought it might have ended after the first couple of weeks. I am now in week 5 but still getting lightheaded but have lost weight

I tend to try and eat healthyish on my non fast days but not dieting as such.

I do find it easier than traditional dieting for 7 days, this totally kills me

That sounds very much like dehydration to me. It is amazing how bad it makes you feel. There is a lot of liquid in food, more than people realise, so if you are fasting you need to compensate by drinking plenty of water.

I'm new to the forums, and just come across this thread. I really want to try the 5:2 diet. I read about it recently and I can understand how this type of diet would work.

Looking forward to giving it a go. Congrats to those that are doing this and succeeding. :D

You can put the ingredients in your diary on MFP and it should tell you. I'm not sure if you can create a recipe on there, but you can on Calorie Counter http://caloriecount.about.com/

You should find them both quite useful:)
