Lots of us fasting today! I managed to ignore the urge to eat rubbish this morning and have pretty much got over it. I still might have a 40 cal hot choc at 3.30 when everyone else in the team goes on a vending machine run!

Really looking forward to my dinner tonight, we're having a Hairy Bikers Recipe from the dieters book; beef goulash! Made it yesterday and had a sneaky wee taste...absolutely delicious and around 300cals per portion! OH will have his with lots of rice and sour cream and I'll just have a small amount of rice!

Fasting too today. Only dropped 1lb last week but it's better than nothing.

I've got 440 cals left today, think I'm going to have an omelette with some chicken. Feeling very lazy so I'm not going to a great effort today :o

I was going to fast tomorrow but remembered that British Bake Off's back and there's no way I'm fasting while watching people make cakes! :rotfl:

Ooh it's lovely that is! I got some mince meat so I'm going to make the meatballs from there.

My current fave though is the Tuna and Spaghetti. Maybe not for fast days though. But it's so simple to make and tastes beautiful.

I don't ususally do recipies, I mostly just go for a salad, but I've loads of turkey mince left over from making these stuffed courgettes last week http://www.london-unattached.com/2013/07/diet-5-2-fast-day-low-cal-stuffed-courgette/ might have that again, or chicken salad, not decided yet.:D

That's the first fast day over and even though I was working from 5 pm until 3 am all went well. I just kept thinking well tomorrow I can eat normally (but I will be keeping an extra eye on my calorie consumption on non fast days).

How often does everyone get weighed? My friend says it should only be once a month ( he lost 6 stone + in a year).

All help or tips greatly appreciated x

I usually have a wee look at the scales after a fast day...just to keep me going but I have an official weigh in with girls at work on a Thursday so I always use that as my actual weight loss for the week. Once a month wouldn't be enough for me...I need to see progress to keep me motivated! I also get my measurements done once a month at my gym which is so helpful, especially if my weight loss has got a bit stuck...as long as the inches are coming off, it's all good!
  • I officially step on the scales every week in the morning.

I also take my measurements once a week too - but only record these numbers once a month. Started the 30 day shred again this morning too so I hope this will help get rid of a few more inches too.

Today was going to be a fast day but I woke up hungry. No way could I last all day, and feeling hungry first thing isn't something normally happens.

So I'm having a normal day today!

    Thanks Pink Petal

Was itching to get on scales this morning but didn't. I feel excited as this diet seems realistic. What does everyone do when they are on holiday. ? I have a holiday booked for a week in September I can still do 5:2 but does anyone have a break then return to it when they are home? x

  • Well yesterday was hectic to say the least!

OH was out of the office all day so we skipped lunch (well I had some blueberries & strawberries about 3pm) and just had an evening meal so I bulked it out a bit so we would use all our calories.

Didn't drink nearly enough yesterday as I was non stop in work so ended up with a headache but I didn't cheat even when a tube of fruit pastilles was waved under my nose!! Back to normal today and then fasting on Thursday for us.

We weigh first thing on a Monday morning each week, I couldn't go any longer as I also need the motivation of seeing the numbers to keep me going :)
