5:2 diet

My failing is tea. If I have it without milk I get nauseous.
I found the scales and I haven't lost so much as an ounce, My weight has stayed exactly the same and that is despite me cutting down the rest of the week and also my exercise has markedly increased this week from nothing to walking a brisk mile up and down hill.
Agree with the milk problem. I'm wondering if I could get by on herbal tea and water but it's a big ask. I don't mind the chilled lemon and ginger someone mentioned. Upped my exercise too and my weight loss this week is a bit disappointing. I do feel better though so I'm trying to think positive for once in my life
Okay big weigh in. Feel skinnier than this week's weight loss suggests but hey ho!

Well a good weigh in this morning as lost 2 lbs :j though I am sure I specified that it should come off my stomach
.
Luckily for me have been a black tea drinker, since I decided to get used to it as my son used to use all the milk for his power shakes, so often there was none in the morning :mad:Following horizon 5-2 started 28/01/13 target where I am now ish
Maintaining now as DW doesn't want my legs to get any skinnier
Total Loss=41.6lb0 -

First of all, you have to be prepared for slow weight loss. Any weight loss at all is good, you are on the way down. When you put the weight on you probably gained it 1lb or half a 1lb at a time. With this diet you just have to be patient. I have lost well over a stone but sometimes I only lost a few ounces a week and at other times my weight stayed the same. In fact there was a time when it stayed the same for about 5 weeks.
However, the diet is still working for you and if you keep the faith, the weight will continue to drop. Some people say they don't lose weight but they do lose inches. So you probably have lost more fat than you think. The less weight you have to lose, the slower this diet can be but believe me it does work and its so easy in comparison with other diets. It also has many health benefits apart from weight loss. The forest would be very silent if no birds sang except for the birds that sang the best0 -
My failing is tea. If I have it without milk I get nauseous. I have gone from fullfat to semi skimmed and dropped the amount of milk a bit but that is my downfall. Without taking any calories off for my walking I have come in yet again at 555. grrr
I guess I was lulled into a false sense of security by myfitnesspal who had counted my exercise. For the first time in my life I wish I was a man :rotfl:

The main weight loss will come from your diet so you have to get it right. You are not supposed to cut down all the time with this diet (I'm telling you off a bit here). You are very naughty because you are supposed to eat normally for the days you are not fasting. You need to keep your metabolism going. No bingeing on non fast days, but no dieting either. Eat what you like to feed your hunger and don't feel guilty about it. If you diet and eat too little your body will think its being starved and will try to hang on to the fat and will slow your metabolism down.
Even if you don't lose weight keep on going like that and eventually the weight will drop off. I am down to 8 stone 8lbs and on non fast days I eat curry, cake, bolognese, chocolate, chilli, ice cream, roast dinner etc. Weighing yourself can be very disheartening but you have not been doing this very long from the sound of it. Just don't give up, keep at it and you will get to know the way the diet works for you. The only people it doesn't work for are those who give up.
All I would say is that over a month two days a week of only 500 calories is a massive deficit, so its impossible not to lose weight. The forest would be very silent if no birds sang except for the birds that sang the best0 -
I've been doing 4:3 since I started 5 weeks ago. I have lost both inches and Lb(s) every week so far.
Do you think that there is a 'better' day to weigh yourself that will better show how much you've lost that week or doesn't it make much difference.
so for example, I fast on Mon/Wed/Fridays, so is it best to weigh the day after a fast day (Sat maybe) or wait til Sunday?Mortgage free as of 10/02/2015. Every brick and blade of grass belongs to meeeee. :j0 -

I don't weigh myself so much but when I do its always after a fast day. In the morning before I eat or drink anything.
Well done for your achievement. You could always slow down to 5:2 if it becomes a bit much. The forest would be very silent if no birds sang except for the birds that sang the best0 -
I'm kinda half scared to in case I don't lose weight
Eating too little can have an adverse effect and actually prevent you from losing weight. It could potentially cause lean muscle loss rather than fat loss too which is what you don't want to happen as this will lower your metabolism further.“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0 -
except that I eat well on the other 4 days so my body shouldn't go into shutdown mode.Mortgage free as of 10/02/2015. Every brick and blade of grass belongs to meeeee. :j0
