My weak time is evening and I really feel tempted to eat then but I didn't want to eat all my calories in one meal before going to bed! Will try to take it down to two and maybe graduate to one meal early evening.0 -

Yesterday I did a fast day I ate at lunch ...420 calories
Today ( feast day ) ... I have eaten ... 400 calories...+... 400 cal + 660 cal
I am not a dietician or health professional but this rings alarm bells. Over two days you have eaten 1,880 calories - or 940 a day. That doesn't look nearly enough. I looked on the site my fitness pal to see what calories I burn to stay the same weight (2080), eat 25% of that on the day I mostly fast - lets call it a fast day for shorthand - 520 cals, and on the unrestiricted day I have been eating almost 125% - about 2500 calories. That gives me 3000 over two days, or 1,500 per day - mfp gave me a target of 1590 calories a day to lose a pound a day - which is a healthy rate of weight loss, so I am quite comfortable with the calories I am consuming.
Fasting isn't about starvation, or about fast weight loss. It is just a routine that many people, me included, find much easier to stick to than a regular diet, in my case because I can eat out without stress on this routine, and so can socialise as normal. Plus, and this is a big whopping plus, there are additional health benefits from fasting, such as the likelihood of blood sugar, cholesterol etc levels dropping. I have to say I feel much better on this way of eating, but I am not starving myself, and I am concerned that you might be.0 -
Thanks, no I am happy for all advice! I thought on the feast day you were supposed to still eat lower calories than normal? Or should I be eating 2000? I feel like I have eaten really well today and actually feel full, maybe I should eat some extra snacks.
Do you have any meal plan suggestions?0 -

A pound of fat is 3600 calories. To lose a pound of fat a day you would need to cut your daily calorie intake by that amount.
Are you sure of your figures? They don't seem to add up.
Even if you are doing something to boost your metabolism, 3600 calories is a lot to burn off in a day.0 -

Eat normally. If you are not hungry, don't eat. Not everybody needs 2000 calories. Some need more, some need a lot less. Remember, the "recommended" figures are an average for the average person. The chances are, you are not average. Not many people are.0 -

Ha ha! Yes, you are probably right. However, it wouldn't be the first time I've seen such an unrealistically optimistic post on this board.0 -
Forget all about calories, they're meaningless! Just eat healthy food and you cannot over eat“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0

But this is the problem - everyone's opinion is different about what is classed as healthy. To me, healthy food is natural, non-toxic foods with the most nutrients so red meat, liver, eggs, full fat dairy, salmon, coconut, berries and vegetables.
My work colleague classes anything low calorie as healthy0 -

What, no chicken!
Liver is definitely not good for you in large amounts - too toxic, as is farmed salmon. Unless you are eating these so-called organic?0
