  • Thank you for terrific suggestions - cleaning teeth worked really well, also did the walk then got into a good book. Managed to do 24 hours straight without food. Just had the haddock and veg, a few black grapes and 5 crackers=400 calories. woohoo!

When I am on a fast day I tend to watch cookery programmes.

    Sadist ;):p

Mind you, I might be on your level, I trawl the web looking for low calorie meals. I swear one day, I will find ginger cake and custard that is about 50 cals :rotfl:

I watched the celebrity bake off last night!

It wasn't the most mouth watering edition of the programme though!

Only managed one fast day last week so going for three this week. First was yesterday - Banana about 4pm & then a grilled breaded chicken piece with a spoonful of DH's baked beans Wow - didn't know there were so many calories in beans - will change in future to chopped tomatoes. Hmm now they'd be nice on toast with some worcester sauce......;)

Yesterday, an apple for brekkie, some cherry toms for lunch and a largish stir fry with half a teaspoon of oil, cabbage, carrots, beansprouts, onion, a green hot chili, three musrooms, and 215g baked cod for tea.
    478 calories.

  • Yesterday I had a weight watchers chicken noodle soup (51 cals) for dinner ...... wont bother again, smelled like baby food in water.

Tea was stir fry, using courgettes as noodles, spring onions, red pepper, cucumber, soy sauce and a chilli, coriander and ginger dressing was 96 calories (this makes a huge bowl!)

Then I was hungry about 9pm so I made 2 slices of toasted weight watchers bread (142 cals), scrambled egg 80 cals and a 15g of tommy sauce (18 cals)

So a total of 387 cals. I also had green tea to drink during the day so I guess that would take me up to about 400 cals. Next time I will ditch the soup and add mushrooms to the stir fry.

You need to add protein to the stir-fry, veg. won't fill you up on it's own and - unless you want to - it will stop you snacking later on.
