I am trying to get a new carpet and it's proving far more expensive
than I thought - wondered if anyone knew a reasonible carpet fitter or
one that would offer some time. I would be very grateful. Kind regards
S****. Havent found a reasonible carpet yet so no rush!!!!
Another one which shouldn't have got through! Its requesting a service rather than a carpet. I haven't seen any carpetfitters in the skips down the civic a -"men"- ity -site recently!

On my local one on Sunday a guy asked for : a sat nav,a washing machine and a laptop all at the same time, not even a please or thankyou just one line for each.
A women also placed 8 wanted posts on the Sunday and two the previous day.
I have three local groups as I live in between them.
The Glasgow group split into two Freecyle and Freeshare(a bit of a falling out I think) and the Cumbernauld one,I think freeshare seem to have less wanted.
And the Glasgow one if awful ,their is more wanted by far mostly, by the same people, asking for what ever pops into their head.
It puts me off,I only give stuff away and never take or ask for anything.
I offered two sofas and a guy asked me to arrange delivery:eek:
I offered a washing machine and had to help the women carry it to her car and put it in the boot,it was rather heavy.
My pet hate is when they say I am a single mother or it's for the kids.
I am a single mother and I find it insulting.
My mother always said their are two types of people in this world the McTaks and the McGees.
I know which one I am.
  • aaaarrrggghhh!! bloody effing freecyclers!!!!!!!!!!

my grandad died a few weeks ago and we need to get rid of his sofa, the other stuff will go to charity but as no kitemark on sofa the charity shops wont accept.

I thought the point of freecycle was to help others in NEED. I have had a good 10 people ask about the sofa, its in perfect condition, but upon seeing a photo, as its a few years old and the design is a bit dated its 'not what they were looking for' LOOKING FOR??!!! Its meant to be there to help those in need its not a bloody catalogue! Maybe if i offer a corner seater, leather sofa with 50" plasma tv it may be what someone is looking for!

Greedy b*astards! wish i never offered.

Sorry, needed to vent my anger.

    love to all xxxx

I'm surprised my OH hasn't had us banned off Freecycle, one example is someone offering an umbrella plant(??), my OH emailed back and asked if it opened in the rain.

Somebody else asked for ideas on solving insomnia, smarta**e OH suggested counting sheep,

someone offered a hoover, the cheeky s*d (hubby of course) asked if he could have it for my birthday!!!
They took my signature away!!!!

I got so sick of all the greedy grabbers on my local Freecycle group I unsubscribed a while back. I give anything I don't want to the local charity shops. The Salvation Army are always glad of furniture. And if I want a tv, laptop, washing machine or dishwasher I BUY them!

i have actually just offered corner seater leather sofa, just for a laugh. in literally 2 mins these greedy b*stards sent me 10 replies!!

1 person begged for it saying they have been waiting ages 'for one of these to come up'.

    Unbelievable.

Because so few of them can dance.

    probably not!!

they are going crazy for my imaginary sofa now!!

I'm teasing them, suggesting that it may be taken but if they're soooo in need of a sofa what with being single mums, have loads of kids, are disabled (some replies i have had), i know of another sofa that is going, then i email the one which belonged to my grandad. if they're sooo in need why not take that!
