Oh mine's just gotten so funny. Apparently mine DID come to collect, but I stood them up and wasn't in and they were banging on the door for 20 minutes. REALLY, well I must've become deaf and blind as I was in the room next to the front door by the window the whole time bored out of my mind! God these people are idiots, they want to come pick it up now and I'm not ashamed to say they're just gotten a very rude reply, lying sods! Blocked their e-mail from my inbox too, so they can try and annoy me further but it won't work!

That sounds more than fair to me, who turns up at someone they don't knows house when it wasn't agreed for then. Some people will only open the door when they know someone they have invited is coming for safety!

heeky cheeky gits. i hope your email was suitably rude enough to show them the error of there ways. cor, if that'd have been me i'd have been livid. some people have so much cheek its frightening.

    Hello,

In response to your last e-mail stating that I was not in my home when you came to pick the items up I have to say I am very shocked and surprised.

You say that you came here on time and knocked for 20 minutes. Clearly then, I have become both deaf and blind at the young age of 20 because I was sat at the window in the room next to the front door waiting for you to turn up. I also clearly became invisible as you would have seen me near the window. I shall book myself in the local hospital ASAP to get all the aforementioned things looked at, and be handing myself over to the MoD as an invisible person could be regarded as both a breakthrough and a danger to the country.

Freecycle is supposed to be a friendly place where people give to others in order to reduce landfill. But as we can see by the rubbish you are spouting that has clearly not been the case in this event. I suggest that you post a wanted as soon as possible along the following lines:

    WANTED: Manners and honesty.

I reluctantly “gifted” you these items because I have little space, even though you sent me a bog standard I’ll have it I want it e-mail. And you have since proven why I do not do this because not only have I dealt with rudeness, but also lies and lost 2 hours of my time that could have been spent doing something a little more productive than sitting in the front room waiting for rude people to arrive. When someone offers you a gift you are supposed to be gracious in receiving, not mess them around, never use a polite word, or lie when you decide you can’t be bothered. I am honestly astounded that you thought that chancing that lie would work, I’m not entirely sure what kind of moron you think I am, but when I agree to something I do it.

When your children ask why they didn’t get what you told them they were going to receive from me, I suggest you tell the truth and say that they lost out because of their parents laziness, rudeness and lying. At least then they will gain something from this – the knowledge to not do what their parents have done this weekend. As adults you should be ashamed of yourself and the example this sets to your kids.

I do not wish to receive further correspondence from either of you as you have shown yourself up to be people that are a waste of my time, unless of course you plan to answer the wanted I’d like to put up: Two hours of my time back.

Goodbye, and may you learn the error of your ways.

I think that was suitably rude enough. I didn't even swear once! :D

Believe me, I wanted to but I realised that would mean I'd sunk to their level and that was pointless! Made me feel better to send that though! :D:D:D

well as you shared yours i'll share mine
    Dear *********

I apologise for not being in when you called to collect saturday evening, due to having gifted my crystal ball to a wanted some time ago, I was unaware you would be calling, and therefore had decided to go out for the evening, carrying on with normal life.

I will be in this evening, 7-7:30pm, as we had previously discussed, and hope this is suitable confirmation for you,

    Kind regards.

    ********

To be fair, I've had a lovely reply, apologising if there first email came across as rude, and that they will of course be collecting said item this evening, as arranged. will see what happens tonight. think maybe I have made them think about how they phrase things in future. :p:p:p:p:p

    Sorry to interrupt your chat.
    Hi, on the scrounge again!

Still haven't had an offer of any old bendy desk lamps. Also the
fridge I will need for my party in July. I will need some extension
    cables too.

New project… I'm not a fan of laminate flooring, but the hall carpet
can be cleaned till the cows come home and still look awful. Maybe
the cows should sleep else where! Were in a rented house so I don't
want to spend any money, but I think the hall would look better with
laminate. Its 4' by 8' approx so if anyone has enough leftovers
could they send them our way? Of if anyone has a similar solution
they can suggest…? (It's a concrete floor underneath)

As ever I'm still after slabs, glass doors, windows and long bits of
wood. Someone in did offer me some slabs
a couple of weeks back but hasn't replied to any of my emails.

A set of stacking stools for my kitchen table would be greatly
appreciated too. Six are needed in total but four would suffice for
    now.

Goodness - I've just joined the local Freecycle group thanks to this thread, but what have I let myself in for, judging from your last posts! :rotfl: :D

To be honest, I joined and then quit FC when we were in London, because of the deluge of emails, but we'll see what it's like here.

Excuse me if I missed it, but I just signed up to "web only" rather than emails - is that what you all do, and then look at the messages periodically?

That seems nice enough, more of a joke than anything. Nice touch with the crystal ball thing. At least that's shown them to think more carefully about how they write to people in the future, which is the best outcome for all.

You'll be alright, don't worry. There's just the occassional rude ones to contend with, some that really beg belief! That and the really strange/cheeky wanteds!

Yes you just read them online so the only thing you get in your inbox is messages from others regarding your posts.

    Happy freecycling!
