It's a catch 22 - either fully moderated (which can be a pain and not very workable) or not (in which case you sometimes get 'unnecessary' messages).

I find the 'repeat' wanted messages more annoying though - if I didn't have it to gift yesterday, why would I suddenly have it today:rotfl:

i agree with the repeat wanteds, last tue one member was looking for a hoover for himself, by fri one for his sister, and today one for his mother. does he think we are stupid.
can i ask a question, if you are about to post an offered, do you check to see if someone has posted a wanted for it lately or just post it?

It depends on what it is, and how nicely the 'wanted' was phrased (and also whether the 'wantee' has offered anything first, or just has a string of 'wanted's)

offered 5 carrier bags of nuts and bolts, assorted sizes, would prefer to go in one lot. plus a few screws thrown in aswell if anyone fancies.

no you are, i never check, i just post offereds (have yet to post a wanted, lol!!!) but i do check reciepient from the hat to make sure they have offered something and aren't a cereal wanter. hmmm.
