We also have someone looking for a tortoise home (makes a change from all those rabbit/guinea pig runs;) ) and someone looking for a go-kart to fix up:D Both asking very nicely and not for the latest, newest, delivered.

I listed my first item on freecycle last night and got rid of it within two hours
Very polite man is coming to pick it up this even ing for his wife, so glad I haven't encountered rudeness I'd been warned about yet.

i'm pleased for you, its not all rudeness i have to say, some people are lovely and are so grateful for what you can pass on to them, its a rewarding thing to be a member of when its like that. i've posted an item this morning, so far 4 lovely replies, no rude ones, lol.
Long live the politeness, it's nice to help others whilst clearing all the stuff out from my room. Have seen a few cheeky wanted's but nothing too bad yet.
Nice to have a way to get organised without just binning all my unwanted goods. And with any luck I'll be able to get hold of some old suitcases on their for moving out soon. Or some boxes, whichever. The "Bloodlust" Clique - Morally equal to all. Bit of a question for all you experts. I am on a few FC groups got a lovely Holly bush and cat scratching post(from two seperate FC members but on the same group) Posted thanks as always got a incomprehensibale message from mod saying NOT to post thanks. So ok if thats the rule, glad to comply. I got something else from the oriiginal site this week, haven't posted a thank you (she is a member of this site so ahve posted a PM on here BUT... have seen at least 6 thanks on the same board
Additionally I got some books from a different site, posted thanks and it hasn't been posted. Have sent a thank you card to the people I got the books from aam I missing something. The last thng I want to do is offend anybody either the mods or the gifters. We are having a bit of a difficult time and the items we have been given are making a big difference to us. I would like to publicly thank these people for all their help. Low value items to some but at the mo a Godsend to us. Any ideas?

I recommend sending the people you got stuff off a private email, thanking them for there gift, its what i do now, and i find this tends to be sufficient,
i always feel all smiley when i get a thank you email, it makes my day to know the item i've gifted is appreciated by the recipient,
hope this helps some,
love

Bit of a question for all you experts. ... Any ideas?
How strange? Did the 'thanks' that got posted have 'RECEIVED' in the title perhaps, and those that were just 'THANKS' didn't
I think it might have something to do with the sheer number of messages getting posted - if an item gets offered and then taken and thanked you'd get three messages per item and perhaps on busy groups it's toooo much:D
I tend to thank the person privately and would expect anyone that I gift to to do the same.
