I once saw a man try that line in a sports shop, when a rugby top had been accidently underpriced by £2. He started shouting and made a big scene, demanding that "By law you have to sell it at this price". The manager soon put him right and showed him the door.... I felt like applauding.... :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:Undefeated Wii Fit ski jump champion!

I fixed a thin piece of soap which kept falling through the wire soap dish, to another larger piece of soap with one of the elastic bands the postman kindly leaves for us.
Now we have one big soap, no litter on the doorstep until the next time postie comes, AND the soap doesnt slip out of your hand when you use it.Member no.1 of the 'I'm not in a clique' group :rotfl:

being a cheapstake - When I take the kids out to Pizzahut or Costco resturant, I buy one unlimited drink, then get 2 straws, then make the kids share a drink.
When I used to go to the Little Chief, my bf would have milkshake and I would have a coke. We would then get the free refill and swop drinks. :beer:I want to be credit card and loan free by Christmas 20100 -
When I used to go to a factory canteen for lunch I asked how much apple pie was, answer 65p, how much with custard on , still 65p, so I used to have a bowl of custard 0p.0

That reminds me of something my Mum used to have when I was little... she used to call it her soap making machine. In actual fact it was just a mould that she'd put all the little end bits of bars of soap in and make a 'new one' when there was enough. Very jazzy they were too lol.TOP MONEYSAVING TIP
Make your own Pot Noodles using a flower pot, sawdust and some old shoe laces. Pour in boiling water, stir then allow to stand for two minutes before taking one mouthful, and throwing away. Just like the real thing!0 -

Yes the custard trick worked for a while. The other trick was for two people, one bought 2 meat pies or whatever and the other would just have a plate of chips (self served so massive portion) therefore saving 50p on chips.0

Amusement Arcades are perfect for picking up winnings missed and left behind by the punters. I've found an average arcade "haul" is about 50p-£3!
Keep your eyes down and peeled as you walk around!
Most lucrative tend to be the "penny (or 10p!) falls type of machine...where the player scoops up their winnings...and often leaves a 10p (or 3!) behind in the dish. Too distracted feeding winnings back into machine I guess!
Great fun on a rainy day at the seaside! CB2X0
