The family bathroom was cleaned and the en-suite was scrubbed and scrubbed - I even had an old toothbrush out trying in vain to remove the limescale that appears all the time around the base of the shower doors.

I've been doing this today as well, Viakal works fairly well. Soaked the end of the shower hose in a jam jar of white vinegar a couple of days ago and found all the grot came off very easily. Now I need to work out how to get the grot off the white plastic shower control (already tried bleach and Viakal - may need mildew remover). Also have kitchen roll doused with bleach around the mastic at the bottom of the shower, so the black marks are slowly going. I might do a trip into Poundland tomorrow for a supply of cheap toothbrushes to use for scrubbing.

Busy day tomorrow, as we have a morning playgroup, an Easter Egg hunt at our afternoon playgroup and have been invited back round to a friend's house afterwards for tea. LO's should sleep well tomorrow night :T

Very stressed about house sale - we've got a private ad in the paper and on several house sale advertising sites, but no calls yet. We really don't want to pay loads to an estate agent for doing very little. Anyone else got any experience of selling a house privately or has any other ideas for things we might not have tried?

Sorry to hear about poorly Mums and dead cats. it's tough when it all happens at once.

OK, now off for a nice refreshing glass of red  and to watch an hour of junk TV before bed.

    Nighty night all.

  • Useless day today - feeling really disappointed with myself:(
However, I did have water-mad DS2 'helping' in the bathroom, so it did take all morning until picking up time for DS1 - and it really wasn't that bad to begin with. I think I may leave the bathroom next week until after bedtime... although the computer desk is a new magnet for him too... I had also intended to make sure my own ironing pile was totally clear (only one little load to do) as tomorrow is the big day when I start taking in ironing! I'm hoping that I can do enough to give me a bit extra to be able to buy for birthdays and Christmas without having to starve us before and after - but not so much that I end up watching anything with 'celebrity' in the title!
Tomorrow might be difficult, or easier, depending on the weather and how the wee-ones + friend's DS that I have for the morning play together.

I've just come across this thread and have decided to join in. I've just spent the last couple of hours scrubbing the bathroom and the kitchen clean. We've had the electrician in for the last four days - so you can imagine the state of my house after a rewire! But feel alot better after seeing the kitchen and bathroom sparkle. The only problem I have in the bathroom is my toilet seat. Where the fittings are it's gone that greeny colour. Any suggestions?

Ended up being out most of the day so getting very little other than a couple of loads of washing done. I'm not sure how much i'll get done before going away tomorrow evening, but i will be back by about 11-ish on Sunday morning so i will see what i can achieve and then do the rest then. I don't want to look too poopered on Saturday after all, and i have been earning myself valuable brownie points with my sister by babysitting.

Penpen didn't get the promotion. I posted a lot on page 4 about it but i think it is for the best. Don't want to go into detail about it again or i will just get mad again.

Anyway, best be quick as DH is just sloping off to bed and i promised i won't be far behind, as we will need to get going quickly in the morning. :o

Ok - so I just finished doing a whole heap of paperwork that wasn't on my list, but it DID need doing :) Think I might call it quits now - just do the banking when OH comes home.
Hope you're all sleeping well :)
